  1. What would you recommend with a 4" lift & 15" Pugs? I don't want to give too much power & I don't want to cut or pound anythjng! But the wider the foot of the tire, the better it'll roll on the sand.
  2. Just spoke with my buddy Joe & we're gonna do the trans (& possibly the lift) next week. I'll try to take as many pics as possible but it's tough holding a digital camera with greasy hands!
  3. I was thinking a set of Bridgestone Duelers in a 235/70R/15 or do ya' think I can go BIGGER!?
  4. Got my D/R tranny today! Bought the whole car, an 86 GL wagon, for $300.00. Thinking about doin' a complete tranny swap between the two cars, fixin' all the little BS stuff that's wrong with the 86 & puttin' it up for sale. More to come!
  5. I decided against buying the '86 GL wagon, too much frame rot. I did make him an offer of $200.00 for the car(pretty much scrap price) 'cause all I need is the D/R tranny. He said he think about. Meanwhle I'm gonna keep the Loyale & keep lookin' for a 5 spd. D/R tranny. Thanks for your help guys!!! Ray:cool:
  6. The car runs smooth, has roughly 250K on it,it's a carbed motor(my Loyale is SPFI), it does have a D/R 5 spd. Some of the sub-frame is rotted & I don't know if there's enough good metal left to patch weld it. There's some rust around the wheel wells & the wndshield needs to be sealed (it's currently taped in). The more I think about it, I should just try to get the car for the tranny (which works fine). Anyone know what a working D/R 5 spd. w/ 250k on it is going for? Remember I'm the one who has to pull it! Or, if he doesn't want to part out the tranny, knowing what I've described about the car, what do you think would be a fair offer?
  7. I currently own a 92 Loyale 4x4 (pushbutton), I was about to put a SJR 4" lift on. Now I have a chance to buy an 86 GL wagon(isn't this considered an EA81?) w/dual-range 5 spd.,good condition that may be a better lift project. With all the knowledge & experience on this board, I figured I put up a poll to help me decide on which wagon to build.I don't know the pros & cons between the two cars. Which build would you do?
  8. I'm ordering the lift kit next week. I'll keep you posted.
  9. I got the adapters from VeeDub so I can use the acorn nuts.
  10. I know this is a little rump roast-backward to get the wheels before the lift but my pugs came in! I SHOULD have the lift in by mid-October.
  11. What years of dual range tranny will fit?
  12. I just bought my first Loyale wagon a couple of weeks ago. Believe it or not,to replace my '05 Dodge Durango which was great on the beach but between the payments, insurance & gas prices, I had to give it up.I've had an '87 Suby Justy GL for about a year now & I really like it a lot. So I figured if I'm goin' used 4x4, I might as well get another Suby! So this is my new beach buggy project! I'll take pics as it comes along. Plans: 4" SJR lift kit 15" Pugs w/ Bridgestone Dueler 235/70/15 A/T Revo Tinted windows Pioneer CD w/ Sirius Custom rod/cooler rack up front Thule roof rack w/ kayak rack
  13. I also put this in the Subaru Stuff Wanted but thought I might get a better response here since pugs are mainly used by the off-road crowd. Ya gotta remember I'm new to this off-road thing & in the middle of puttin' a 4" lift on my '92 Loyale. I just bought this set of pugs off the board here.I haven't recieved them yet & don't know much about them,(style name, lug type required). First of all does anyone know what style they're called? Second, does anyone know what style lug they take? I need at least 4 lugs for them but I like to have another full set, so I like to find 20 total. Thanks, Ray
  14. MMMMMMMMMMMM.................LAGER BETTER!!!
  15. I just got the wagon a week ago today. I'm probably gonna start the project in mid-Sept. to early Oct. I'll get some pics of the car before, during & after. I have one other question, do I have to buy the 3" diff lowering kit & the 4" engine crossmember block set seperate from the kit? or are they included? 'Cause they're not shown with the 4" EA82 lift kit. I'll definitely be in touch throughout the project. I may even try a step by step thing through PM's if we set up a weekend where you're able to do so. That would be even better. I'd like to spray all the bolts I'll be removing now, so when I go to start they should loosen a little easier. What would you recommend I spray them with? Thanks Again, Ray:cool:
  16. Between the link you sent & your diagram, I think, I may be able to tackle this with minimal help. Thank You for the pics & for taking the time to help! By the way, the car looks awesome! Much Appreciation, Ray:cool:
  17. I live in Northern Delaware & would like to install a SJR EA82 4" lift on my '92 Loyale 4x4 wagon. I was wondering if anyone out there knew of a person or shop(possibly within a 100 mi.) that could either install the kit for me or at least give me a hand? As I have some mechanical abilities but I've never done anything like this & I'm in need of some major help! Thanks in advance, Ray:cool:
  18. Thanks for all the input!, Ray:cool:
  19. Anyone out there who has used a Allied Armament lift kit, I'd like to know what you thought of the kit. Was it an all bolt on job or was there some fabrication needed? Did it come with complete & clear installation instructions? Was there any fabrication needed on the steering shaft or anything else? There is quite a price difference between the SJR & Allied kits, I was wondering if the Allied kit was more complete (no fabrication)? Thanks, Ray
