  1. OK, it has happened 3 times now, and it is a possibility that it is some what engine temp dependant. Not sure on that yet, but the engine has not been up to normal running temp. yet 2 out of the 3 times. It would seem for certain that in only happens within the 1st 5-10min. of the engine being started. The cornering thing I will have to pay attention to and see if that is having any effect. Thanks for the tip.
  2. OK, '85 EA82 carb. with 280,000 on it. This has happened twice now in the span of 2 months. I am going down the road, everything is looking fine on the gauges, and then out of no where it will start to blow oil smoke out the exhaust pipe. Enough smoke that I thought I might have blown a head gasket. The smoke persists for about 1/2 mile (through gear changes and such) and then just as quick, it stops completely. No change in the way the car runs at all, before during or after, no change in the gauges:confused: Any ideas on what it could be?
  3. That is just amazing!!!!!!!! I have NEVER seen any thing THAT unusual at the strip before. That would just be cool as 7734 to drive on the street:grin:
  4. OK, my new wagon has more window problems than any other car I have ever had:rolleyes: 1st off: How hard is it to replace the entire window regulator assembly in the front door of an EA82 wagon? Just looking at it, I can tell it's got to come out/go in 1 piece at a time:-\ But just how much of a PITA is that? 2nd: What type of adhesive do you use to glue the window glass into the nylon holders? What ever the PO used is yellow/orange, and did not stick worth a s#!t. 3rd: Is it a problem that I have the top and bottom parts of the windshield trim, but not the side pieces? (other than aesthetics?) If so, where would one get new window trim that was in excellent/new condition? Thanks in advance. The bright side is, the windows are the worst problem with my new red wagon:banana:
  5. I have been looking for the same thing. I just don't find anything with an aggressive enough tread pattern. I think 14" or 15" rims/tires are the only option if you want bigger. Not that hard to do, I just wanted more sidewall than the 14's or 15's will give me.:-\
  6. Every time I have tried to solid mount 1 and soft mount the other it has ended in disaster:-\ I don't recommend it at all. I have seen it bust trans cases, crack bell housings, twist drive shafts, snap motor mounts, ect.
  7. Well......After being away from these wonderful little cars for to many years now I am back:banana: I have decided that I will not be without a Subaru again. Living in the Rouge Valley, a Subaru is just a no brainier to have. Gas is never going to get any cheaper, and the weather is never going to get any better in the winter. I just picked up a nice strait '85 EA85 GL wagon with the dual range in it for $500:):) Drives great, looks great, just has the "tic of death" ( I don't remember any more what I will need to do to fix that:rolleyes: ) and could not be happier. I am sure that there will be more 'Roos to follow, we all know how that goes:rolleyes:
  8. Thanks man! I plan on painting anyway, so I can just swap out the rear hatch for newer, and get rid of all the rain gutter trim @ the same time:banana:
  9. The black piece on the rear hatch as well? Or just the rain gutter trim?
  10. Did ALL EA82 wagons come with the plastic trim on the rain gutters? Any one take it all off? How do they look w/o it? Same Q's about the black plastic wraparound panels on the rear hatch/door
