  2. i have a 87 gl with ea82t with a rear diff of 3.7, i was wondering if you can weld those rear ends up so both tires can spin. I want to be untopable in the snow. i have been trying to look around here for info but am having a hard time. Thanks Jason

  4. I put a new alternator in but it still cuts out on me
  5. Not sure how good the alternator is, but i have checked my grounds. Im gonna go change my alternator out now and see what happens.
  6. I have a 87 gl turbo, When the car is idling and no power is on it idles fine but when i turn my lights on and heat at the same time the car bogs down when i am driving. The more stuff i turn on like wipers, rear defroster and cab lights it barely idles. . It has a brand new interstate battery in it. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, JaSoN

  9. My dash lights are not working. I removed this black box that was in where my radio goes im not sure if this has anything to do with it. Also my power mirrors are not working Thanks Jason
  10. I am not planning on doing this build for another few years. I am just trying to get some info on it now. Subeydave i saw your website and man your cars are looking good.
  11. It feels great to have it back. Thanks alot
  12. My only concern for this project is the wiring.( something i cannot do). If i can find a motor for cheap out of a wrecked car this is what i would like to do.
  13. I have an 87 gl ea82t and i have heard that those motors need to run cool and the easiest way is to put a radiater from a automatic, all wheel drive, turbo car. I have this car as well and the radiater looks the same as the 87's radiater. Any help on what i should do. Thanks Jason
  14. thanks for all your guys help. i put on my new intake manifold and the timing was off about 1 tooth. it runs great now.
  15. OK thanks alot guys i am changing out my manifold tomorow with one off my other car.
  16. Is this possible. i really want to do this. Has anyone ever done this before.
  17. Yes the intake manifold stayed with the vehicle. The motor came from a 1990 loyale and into a 87 gl. Both cars were turbos. I put the distributor on because it was brand new that came out of the bad motor so i just put it on.
  18. i just recently swapped a good running ea82t in my gl that had a bad running ea82t. I had to switch intake manifolds from the bad motor to the good one so the wiring harness plugs can connect. As well as put in a new distributor. It took forever to start after we kept messing around with the distributor to get the timing right. We finnaly got it going and it would not idle it did not run good when i drove it it just bogged down. I took it to a subaru mechanic and he took off the radiater cap and it popped off about 2 feet then he called and told me my heads were cracked. This was a great running motor prior to the swap. Do you think it is something with the timing or intake manifold. Are the timing marks on the flywheel the 0 degree mark. i appreciate any help. Jason
  19. I bought a car that the HG just went out in and i was going to fix it but ket driving it, i drove it for about 2 months it was just fine until i noticed a rapid loss of power(1st gear up hills at times) and it started to overheat. then decided to pull the motor and swap it with a better one. but i took the heads off and the HG were fine the heads were cracked.
  20. well i really appreciate all of your help. my cars do overheat. one more question, I put a ea82t out of my loyale that ran perfect into my gl-10 and i put a new distrubitur on it as well. When it was all in it took forever to start i kept moving that distributor around and i got it running but it would not idle or when you drive it it would just bog down. So i thought that my timing was either off or had some vacuum hoses off(which i didnt) so i took it to a subaru mechanic and he took off the radiater cap after he had it running for a bout a minute and the radiater cap popped up about 2 feet. Then the guy told me that my heads were cracked. But i think it is in the timing or something cuz that motor was running great. I would like to get it fixed but im not sure what to do. Thanks Jason
