  1. Ok In my eternal quest for a new subie I have found a 96 outback for sale. It has 55k original miles. I am pretty sure it has the 2.2. Is this correct? What kind of mpg will a 2.2 outback get? My friend has a 98 2.5 and only gets like 25mpg and had had head gasket issues. Is this a good combo ? 2.2 outback? Thanks
  2. I found a 94 Wagon that looks to be in great shape, but I have a few ?? about it. It has 94k on it. How reliable are these motors? I have owned several GL-10s and they were great cars but had some major issues. What kind of highway mileage can I expect out of the combo of turbo and auto?? I was looking at a 92 LS wagon with a 5spd but the car was pretty beat. Thanks Richard
  3. Thanks for the info. I love Castle Rock, grew up here. I actually get to drive to Golden and Boulder area for my work daily!! I was told that the legacy with 2.2 5spd would get close to 30-32mpg highway. I love the looks of the outback but not sure if I want lose that kind of mpg. I am used to 35 range on my GL and have about a 100 mile a day commute.
  4. Yes I had these on a couple of GL-10s I owned, they were a major pia. Thanks I did now know they had these on the legacy models.
  5. Hello all I am new to the Newer Generation Subaru’s. I have owned 10 Subaru’s, nothing newer than an 86 but as old 76. I have spent a lot of time searching and it looks like a 2.2 is the way to go. What kind of mpg highway will I get with and outback 2.2 5 spd vs a regular legacy 2.2 5spd. I also have a line on a 91 LS wagon with 5spd and sunroof. Any particulars I should stay away from? Thanks Richard Castle Rock CO
