You can use you Thule on a subaru but might have to buy new feet to go on your roof or new adapters to fit on the factory subaru rack.

I have a 91 LS AWD Wagon 5 spd and get 27-30mpg consistently here in Colorado, car has 110k miles.

I have a 91 Legacy LS 5 spd wagon 110k and have been getting 29mpg on crappy winter gas here in Colorado. This is mostly Highway to and from work.

What was the last year you could get the 2.2 in the legacy? I know in the outback was 96 with 5 spd what about other models? Thanks

My parents are looking at a newer sedan and they were told that 2000 and up rear seats cannot be folden forward? Is this true? When did they stop doing this or did they ever? Thanks

So what brand filters is everyone running? I ask this becuase I know that nissan filters in us are not good but japan ones are very good. Thanks

You are absolutely correct. You should only turn the filter 1/4 to 1/2 turn after rubber makes contact. Over tightening is just as bad as under-tightening.

Yea I kind of think about frequent oil changes as cheap insurance for you vehicle. I know you can push this mileage more but for me I would rather have the insurance of super clean oil. I now change dyno oil every 3k but if I goto synthetic I will go to 6,000. Speaking of what kind of filters do you all run? Are the Subaru filters good? I ask this because I know that some filters are bad, like the Nissan Japan ones are great but the ones from US are re-branded Frams. Thanks

That is a great point, I just wanted to go to 6 months or 6,000 miles, from what I have been told this should not be a issue with synthetic oil.

Leather was available option on 96. Any seats from 95-99 will fit just fine, might even be able to go back old. They will not be any more comfortable, cloth or leather have the same exact seat structure and padding, only difference is the cover being cloth or leather

Anyone have any issues switching to synthetic oil in an older Legacy? I put on a ton of miles, over 2000 month, and wanted to switch to synthetic so I can prolong the oil change intervals. I changed to synthetic on one of my GLs(which tend to leak like crazy anyway,they all do) and it leaked a lot faster. I have noticed that my new (new to me) legacy has not leaks at all. It has 109k and just wanted to if anyone has switched and if they have had any issues. Thanks

Leather is really nice for looks and spill cleanup. But it tends to be cold in winter, heat leather is wonderful btw, but it is kind of hot in the summer so be sure you ac is fully charged. Leather is actually a bit more work because to keep it looking nice you should treat it every 6-8 months to keep if from cracking and such.

90 Was the first year. Someone just listed it incorrectly. I have the Subaru press release form 89 talking about the arrival of the new legacy in 90.

Does this fuse make a subie front wheel drive only? I wonder if there is some way to wire this up to a switch so you could have selectabel AWD? Then you could run in 2wd for gas savings??

Or could be very bad gas. My mother-in-law got a tank full that was test out to be something like 42%. It was back on the east coast and one of these no-name places. She drove off and about 2 miles later her car died.

Well after my 2 month search I finally found a subaru to meet my needs. It is a 91 LS 5spd AWD Wagon. It is from the original owner and has 108,000 miles. I drove several wagons, outback, etc over the last few months trying to find a nice one. I am really happy to have found this one, and the price was right.

Yea I check it out not in that good of shape and he wanted $9000 dollars and would not take any offers.

Yea the only issue is the car is about 4 hours away from where I live so I do not want to make the commitment of driving all that way and then find out all cars from Alaska have some issue. I have seen pictures and it looks like it is great in shape. They are also asking $$$$ so I am going to try to talk them down a bit. Thanks

I am looking at a 96 outback wagon, 2.2, 5spd and I pulled a Carfax on it and the car is originally from Alaska. Is there any issues I should be worried about from a car from there? The car has 58,000 original miles, but I am worried about the possibly of rust or other issues being that it is from the far north? Thanks
