Just had cam seals and timing belt....around 160 000 i think

I have a 98 subaru legacy sus limited and have a few issues my main one right now is it strugglin starting. Seems to take longer than it should and sometimes sputters before starting.also sometimes when starting there is a loud thump under gear shift between the seats from under the car??? Thump happens right as car is starting and it sputters a bit then a thump or two and then fine!!!

checked tire pressure drives straight when steering wheel straight how 2 check for dragging brakes and if thats it how to fix???

yea i think i will just take the old 77 ford through the creek and leave the subee in the dry

well ..... i drained out a couple cups and has been ok since i think the stick is more sensitive than i thought also you must insert the stick with the picture of the oil can right side up this thread tells me that im not as stupid as i thought subees are just picky and sensitive ....may be i should but it some flowers:slobber:

well... drained about 2 cups checked it about five times started the engine and checked it looks ok again so i guess we will see when she gets home today thanks all

so..... i changed my oil the other day... i have changed a few hundred oils in my time so im not really a rookie.... however.... i filled it up to F then started it and ran for a min then turned off checked level 10 - 15 times added a little to get to F......all good drove about 5 miles came home checked again and was waaaay over F needed to drain some....ok drained almost a quart before got back down to F started checked all good drove a few more times thinking i was all set then did a normal check OVER A QUART LOW!!!?!?!?!? ADDED oil to F (jeeze am i retarded), wife drove to work 60 mi when she got home checked oil waaaay over again looks like almost a quart again??!?!? so needless to say im a bit confused this car is making me feel like an idiot im really concerned about doing damage from not having the right level what am i doing wrong??? figured i would just stop and i would see if any body could help me with some suggestions PLEASE IM FREAKING OUT MY WIFE HAS TO LEAVE AT 7 AM AND I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO i will check in the morning to see thanks A BUNCH in advance jeremie

i have had this before and my problem was mud on the inside of the rims dont know if this is an issue for you but just somthin to look at

i have installed many drain plugs into gas tanks u just need to drill a hole thread it and put in the correct screw for your threads and a little sealant you can drain it when ever u like however prob not the problem if u had water u would have issues at all speeds and fuel levels

a dirty air filter will cause all kinds of power loss they are more sensitive to air intake than any other car i have ever had

when my outback (98) is idling it has a slight studder hard to explain but every 10 seconds or so it sounds like it misses just once and then normal then again every 10 -30 seconds and not even every time??!? haynes manual sais vacuum leak im not sure anybody had this problem before?? thx jeremie

WOW this thread got some response huh?!? i thank all of you for your input well its been raining here a lot and the creeks are up so no creek crossing right now we will see how it goes when the water comes down and after all the worst that can happen is a reason to crawl under that sexy subee with my wrench in my hand lol jeremie

just wondered if u had the driveshaft freed to check it for problems or if it was still in gear
