Idk if I'll be driving the BRAT or the wagon.
If I'm driving the wagon, it'll be kinda awkward to fit a dirtbike in there And with the BRAT, I'd have remove one of the rear seats.
No big deal, but do you think it'd fit back there?

You waved, I nodded
I figured it was you.
Yeah, haven't done anything of real consequence to that little thing yet though.
Twitch

Ok. Well, you'll need a tranny, all the linkage, the interior pieces and possibly the drive shaft and all of this with a matching rear diff.
If your tranny is a 3.9 and your diff is a 3.9, no worries

Tranny swaps are easy.
I've done several.
Is this from an auto to manual or just a s/r to a d/r?
Twitch
-
Lol, it wasn't that hard.
Getting it back in is going to be the fun part.

I haven't done a lift but I know what goes on while putting one in and how they work.
As for brake line removal/ extension, that all depends on how tall you go.
2", just popping them out of the holders usually work.
4" might need some extenstion for the fronts.
6" you pretty much will need brake line extensions on all 4 corners, plus readjustment of your E-brake.

I've never actually done an EJ swap.
I wouodn't mind learning how to do one, but I don't currently have the know how.
I live in N ID.
Monstaru and Baccaruda would be good to look up, as they both have swapped EJ's into EA's before.
I'm not sure if Monstaru has done any wiring though.

Hey man. Yeah, I tend to like digging into engine bays.
Just pulled an EJ25D in 4 hours, not counting cleanup, so I guess I can call myself proficient
What are you looking to do?
Twitch
-
Hey, that'd be sweet if you could come out.
If you can't get a trailer, I'd be willing to pick you up so you can at least hang out

Welcome back!
I saw you on the group roster, so I figured I'd re-greet you
Twitch

Sorry, I've never dealt with the "third eye" on these.
If you search around you should be able to find out how to fix it.

Hey, sounds like you've got a fun project there.
I'm over Idaho, obviously, and would love to come over and help.
If you're looking at an EJ swap, I have an EJ22 for sale, just sitting here with harness still attached and still in a car.
It has one issue of a busted head stud on one side, so the exhaust won't seal up.without some hefty aluminum refill or a replacement.
You might ask monstaru or baccaruda, as they're more experienced and closer than me.
Just don't pissoff either of them, and they are great guys to work with.
Anyway, I'd be glad to help, unfortunately the job fairy hasn't landed on me, so my funds are sverely depleted and I'm running on minimal right now.

Well, hey, your spelling is better than most who graduated
And when you find a SUbaru who's AC works, OMG.
I have yet to find a Subaru with working AC that didn't keep the car cool in 100 degree heat.

Really?
No GED sucks; I have a diploma, but it was through a correspondence school (online)
And the garbage bag idea only works if the T-Tops are on the car
Last time I took a ling road trip, I pulled the T-tops because it was hot and I was doing
a lot of freeway travel.
I had the tops off, windows down and vents open.
Poor man AC requires lots of airflow to stay cool in 85-90 degree heat
Twitch
PS: If it had been in the lego, I would have been shivering because that sucker will
practically blow ice cubes out of the dash.
I have gotten cold in my car with 100+ temps outside

I want to kinda freelance mech/computer tech, but I'm not "certified" so nobody will let me
touch their cars without a reference >_<
Computers are a little different, but some people still freak about a certification of some
sort.
Twitch
PS: BRAT travel is great, if you have a hat.
Otherwise, the T-Tops work against you in long term sunshine...

I will try to post up a youtube vid for you if I can get my camera to pick up the tones of
my car
Microphones tend to not like EA81 roar
And if I had the money, I would grab a JY axle, all my tools, and start driving
I trust the BRAT so much that I would be willing to drive it from Athol ID to Wakesha WI
I'm unemployed, so I have all the time in the world to go do stuff, just no money to go
do it!
Its only 3 days of driving to get to Wisconsin from here
Twitch

I would love to have a road trip over to the midwest, and visit all you guys
The axle boot is so far gone, that its just brittle rubber that kinda hangs onto the cup
and the shaft
I've tried bandaiding it, but eh, not a big deal to me.
I have to drive it in 4WD sometimes to keep it from vibrating the car
I can get a JY axle for like $14+tax, so I'm good
I've seen those Maxxis Bighorns in person, and DAAMN!
Oh, and have you ever heard an EA81 roar?
Ohhhhh gaawwwwd its almost orgasmic.
Twitch

I can't wait to get a set of tires like yours.
The BRAT is still going, even with a popping axle (its way beyond clicking now), 2 shot
front motor mounts, an alt with dying bearings from being rammed into the hood, rust
attacking the body, exhaust blowing past at the heads and a maniac driving it.
And it still revs to 5k and loves it
Twitch
PS: I've seen your restore thread, good job at keeping a rare model for your area alive

I've just been a member so long the privilege was given to me to make my own albums.
I usually use photobucket to conserve bandwidth on the USMB server though.
Just open an account and after upload your pictures, photobucket gives you the link
code and everything to post up pictures on here
Yeah, those just came with being here for so long, or if you want, you can donate and
get that stuff even sooner.
