  1. 1st issue in a 1999 Forester, the speedo doesnt work unless you whack the dash over the speedo, then it starts working....? 2nd When I honk the horn, brake etc... my headlights and interior lights dim.... Is this the alternator or voltage regulator?
  2. No noise from the 2.5 just like how MMO has worked in my EA82. 10W-40 is ok though right I mean no harm done?
  3. I have an 87GL and use 10w-40 with MMO in it as far as oil goes. The 1999 2.5L NA forester has 87,000 can I use the same oil and MMO in it?
  4. Can an EA series 5spd FWD tranny take 200+HP? If not how hard would it be to toss in a legacy FWD 5 spd?
  5. Sanded and re did all my connections at the battery, starter and alternator. So far its working good. Any ideas of what it could of been, before doing this my voltage was around 14v on my dash needle and varied depen ding on the vehicle rpm. Now its constant at just above 12v. Before doing this the car would also jerk when turning to the right, now thats also stopped.... coincidence?
  6. Thats what I thought too and thats why I used a jump wire between the starter lead and the battery positive terminal but it wouldnt do anything at all. Will try cleaning all my connections and replacing my cable terminals and try again after tapping the starter. Will a starter from an automatic fit my manual car?
  7. Would a bad starter work out of nowere like it did today? I mean will it not do anything one day and then work the next?
  8. Ok guys this is the story: Have an 87 GL Wagon, 1 month old battery in it. Car wont turn over at all, just makes a slight clicking sound. Tried to jump start it and nothing, added a wire between the positive and alternator and nothing. Then i tried jumping the starter from the positive on the battery and nothing. Had to push the car to start it, after its on it runs fine. Even when its off all my lights and elec. works good, it just wont turn over. Someone told me maybe I have bad cable terminals and I should try replacing them, any other ideas? Here is my baby and this is me
  9. I checked this area, no dirt no nothing not even rust... The windshield is the likely culprit as the rubber seal is starting to buldge outwards.
  10. When it rains I get water showering my feet coming from the pedal area. Its a 87 GL Wagon. You good folks have any ideas?
  11. Mounted some 6.5" speakers into the front doors of my wagon yesterday and they seemed to fit great. Now my windows wont open all the way lol. How do I mount them to the door panel instead of in the door? Is this ok to do ?
