From my local parts store, I found the part number, and maker.
Maker - ZeroStat
Part # 33080002
Was like 50 bucks, this is the warmer, with a circulation pump.

For me to take a look at the one that I have that has the pump, I would have to wait till June or so. Its on my moms car in South Dakota, I am in Missouri, and I wont be seeing her anytime really soon.

The clutch is probly good. Had this happen on my 84 GL many years ago. The throw out bearing got stuck on the output shaft. Took the tranny out, emery sanded the output shaft, new throw out bearing, 3 years later, same thing happened. But this time the throw out bearing ate the output shaft. Ended up replaceing the tranny.

I beleive this is the style, althou I dont remember exactly. Was 3 years ago that I installed it. I would have to contact the seller to see if this is the pump style, althou it looks like it is. But I am not sure.
Yes it does go into the heater core lines. I do not like the ones that go into the main radiator hoses. Silt, and other things can form on the heater elements over time, and drasticly reduce the coolant flow. In the heater core lines, you will notice a slight diference in the amount of heat that comes out of the vents as the silt builds, but will not affect how the engine is cooled.
If memory serves me right, we bought 5 feet of heater core hose from a parts store, and took the old one out completely. Mounted the pump/warmer in front of the strut tower with a strap. Then used the new heater core hose to connect it all together.
This was on a 94 legacy, so there was no spare tire under the hood. Althou I imagine it could easily be mounted under the spare tire, using the spare tire carrier shelf as a mounting point.

So my Mom is moving from South Dakota to Denver. She owns a 94 Legacy Wagon AWD LS automatic with 154k miles. She wants to know if she can have the car flat towed. In other words, a tow bar attached to the front end, and then pulled behind another vehicle. Or, can she have it towed on a tow dolly.
I am familiar with the older GL's and brats, and the 2000 and newer, but I am not really familiar with the legacys.

I personally prefer the In Line heaters with pumps. They circulate the warmed antifreeze thru the entire engine, and because of the radiational affect, it also warms the oil. And because of the coolant bypass system that all cars have, the coolant thru the whole engine, radiator, heater core, will be warmed to about 90 degrees. It also means less snow clearing in the hood area.
Its also the easiest to install. Can be done, with a cold engine, in about 20 minutes.

My suggestion would be to take each spark plug out, and rotate the engine by hand. Then put the plugs back in, if you have some oil from a previous oil change, throw that in there, and start the engine (if it can). Let her run for about 15 mins. Drain the oil, and put fresh in.

I assume you are interested in the engine and wiring harnass, so you can swap the entire engine into your 87. If so, have the guy selling the car start the engine with a jump start. There is no point spending time and around $200for a motor that you later find out is bad after purchase.
QFT (Quoted for truth). Even if you think its repairable, you have to factor that repair to the engine into your whole thing, and that 200 dollar car, with a unknown engine, could turn into??? 1000 bucks? No run, No deal.

No more than 300. And thats assuming steel prices remain where they are. The iron yards are giving 300 per ton in Indiana. So start low, and see what you can get...

:-\ Why is the car on its side?

My Tribeca the day I brought her home brand new...
And me and the wifey!
And the wifey on our honeymoon in her wedding dress!

Yea I made it, didnt even know about the club until you said something. A google search later, and here I am...
Althou I am getting irritated by my Tribeca... Its making a knocking noise in the front suspension. The dealer cant find anything wrong. But the knock is still there...
And then, from my big accident a couple months ago, when I got rear ended by that explorer, I still cant get the body shop to line the body panals up correctly.

Wish I could do that in my Tribeca... Darn VDC wont let me. And even if you hit the button to turn it off, it dont really do anything.

Greetings from St Louis!
Was on one of my other car boards, and someone teased me about not being part of this board. Oops .
Anyways, I am kinda a car fanatic, always after the rare, and odd. And my stable is always full of more cars than I care to really think about. All running, driving. Some have dust on them, but they never fail to start.
Starting from the oldest to the newest..
1989 Pontiac 6000 STE All Wheel Drive (1 of 1376 made)
1990 Pontiac ASC McLaren Turbo Grand Prix (1 of 2000 est made)
1990 Legacy (parts car, runs, bad head)
1992 Legacy Wagon
1993 Legacy Wagon (soon to be for sale)
1994 Legacy Wagon GT
1994 Chevy Corsica
1998 Legacy Wagon
1998 Forester
2001 Legacy Outback Wagon
2006 Eton Vector 250 ATV
2006 Eton Yukon 150 ATV
2006 B9 Tribeca
2006 Internation 9400 DayCab Semi truck
I am sure there are more, but I cant think of them at the moment.
The Tribeca is my Daily Driver, and a lease. With the current economy, I cant wait for it to go back to the dealer. The Pontiac 6000 is my wifes daily driver. Want to put her into a 99-06 Subaru SUS. But she doesnt exactly like Subaru for some reason.
Anyways, thats enuf for today. I will lurk about some. I moderate 3 other forums, and am a member in some 10 others. Couple that with being a trucker, my time is very limited LOL. But I will be about .
