  1. Yes, I have CEL... Getting a scanner to find out the code soon.
  2. 1998 Legacy, 2.2L automatic, 146,000 miles. I get a miss between 2nd and 3rd gears it seems. It idles fine. It runs fine at full throttle. But during the acceleration, it's acting a bit weird. I pulled all the spark plugs, they seem fine. Not exactly new, but shouldn't be failing. Where else do I look? Plug wires? The distributor?
  3. No, the brake pedal does not feel spongy at all, it just brakes poorly. I have another car for comparison, same sized sedan and it brakes much better. I will flush the brake fluid. How do I access the rear drums to check its condition? Do I need to undo the big nut in the middle?
  4. 1998 Subaru Legacy, 146K miles, auto, 2.2L Stupid question I know, but I cannot figure out why it brakes kind of poorly. (comes to a stop slower than it should IMO) I figured the front brake pads were gone. Just checked both of them and they are fine. What else could cause slow braking? Do I have to bleed it? If so, what's the sequence?
  5. Thanks for the reply. I will look for one off Ebay... any particular brand that's better?
  6. 2.2L auto, 146K miles Runs rough between 2-3 gears and throws a code. Going to do a normal tune up but what else might it be? I think codes will point me to the right direction. Would a generic OBD-II code scanner work on it?
