  1. ok, so the sea foam worked for two days, now all the problems are back, I did the full d check and it is not throwing any codes. Would the fuel pressure regulator be a good place to start?
  2. Well I went down to Costless and got some seafoam and my car is not lugging down on takeoff anymore. It also doesn't seem to smell nearly as bad. so we will have to see how long me and my subi can be friends for this time.
  3. ok, so my read plugs have been plugged in for God knows how long!! no more check engine light. However my exhaust still stinks and my car still hesitates.
  4. ok so in d mode it keeps flashing seven times then stoping, there is no seventy seven code, the only code that I see there is the 07 for at federal and canada. I can't locate the read wires.
  5. Okay, how do I check the codes? I have been searching, I know how to put it in diagnostic mode now, I just don't know what to do now.
  6. I need to get my car through deq. It stinks it is an ea82 I think, it is the 1.8l. I replaced the O2 sensor, my check engine light is still on. So I disconnected my maf sensor and it seemed to do nothing, however when I plug it in the rpm's drop a little bit and then go back. When i disconnect the air hose from the air box an maf the car dies. When i disconnect the big sensor on the throttle body which I assume is a TPS there is absolutely no change to anything. When I drive my car (automatic) it hesitates and almost dies on take off. it also seems to be gutless. Any advice will be great!!!
  7. For the most part I get good used sets from a shop by my house. You can get a matching set for $80 installed.
  8. Walmart sells bfg's. What is the most aggressive tire sold for a 13 inch rim?
  9. I will be selling mine at the end of the summer to get a legacy, so you can buy it and have a sunroof.
  10. Here are a couple pics. As you can see I gave up on body work and went straight to paint.
  11. If youi get a residual odor you can geet dir of that with an ozone machine, I did that with a jeep that I sunk in the columbia
  12. I found a set of wheels at u-pull-it that I really like. They are the steel wheels with black centers and chrome rings. I live in washington, I need my normal doors too. To bad that you are so far away, there are two coupes in a u-pull-it about 20 miles from me. Also saw an older wagon with round head lights. One of these days I am going to fill in all the lower trip holes, I filled one of the big ones in the pass side, I am just really busy building my Jeep
  13. I have been busy working on my 87 coupe. Not sure what it's called, some places call it a hatch, some call it a coupe, some places call it a 2 door, some call it 3. It was a $100 car with only 3rd gear and body damage. Since then I have replaced the automatic transmission, replaced a front fender that took me a couple months to find, pretended to know how to use bondo painted the whole car. I have also replaced lights, opened up and resealed both headlights, no more condensation, I have also replaced all the brakes and did a full tune up, flushed and replaced all fluids. I have replaced gauges, speedo cable, and had a windsheild installed with new trim. Here is a pic of it so far. I am thinking about making my self some tube doors.
  14. I know that every time people use tube adapters on tv they tig weld. I have a good 110v mig that penetrates really got on 3/16 for sure. Should I be able to weld tube adapters on the ends of 120 wall DOM?
  15. I am working on my 87 3 door. I removed all the trim. What is a good method for filling the holes from the upper and lower trim pieces? Is there a function for those 2x4 holes in front of the rear wheel wells?
  16. This is what i am working with. A 1990 Jeep Comanche, Never mind the rear bumper, I broke it so i am going to remove it. This is the basic idea of my build. Diagram A is the part that goes right behind the cab, I am going to run it a little above the cab so that I can add a front exo later. Am I going to need to reinforce the frame where it mounts? If so what are your suggestions? Diagram B is from the back. The blue is the frame. The red is where it mounts to the frame. What do you guys think, Any suggestions? Next question I started building myself a bumper before I wrecked my truck, the bumper is the width of the bed made out of 3/16 wall 2x5. Should I use it as a base in the back? like diagram B, or should I build something new that is narrower? Mind you that I am going to full widths. I am going to add fenders later so that it is streetable.
  17. Well this weekend I got alot done on the jewbaru!! Igot the exhaust welded up, welded a crack on the y pipe. realized that I need to replace the gaskets on the "headers" BTW those things are kinda cool how it's set up, what are they called???? And I cleaned my MAF sensor, I still have a hesitation when I first start. But only if i don't give it alot of gas. Is it normal to be running at 3500 rpm on the freeway? My tranny came out of a 89 ea82 wagon. I hear it go from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd. The two trannys looked identical, could it have been a 4spd that i got?
  18. Here in portland we have an abundance of subies in wreching yards. :banana:Many fist gen legacys, tons of 4x4 ea82 wagons. There is an xt in the vancouver yard. I have never really looked at an xt up close. It is deffinately the coolest ugly car I have ever seen!!!!
  19. I am gonna weld it back up later this week when i have a chance, it is ungodly loud:eek:
  20. I am in felida/salmon creek. One detail that i forgot to mention is that the muffler is currently disconnected from the exhaust due to a snow bank. Could the lack of back pressure cause issues as well?
  21. Are the front fenders and bumper the same as on the wagon? I have some body work in my future. Oh, got the lights, found and fixed the vacume THANX!!! On to another gremlin with the fan. There is a green wire that comes from a loom that goes to the blower. it has been cut and hooked to the constant power for the radio. I hooked the wire back up and low and behold, no fan. I checked the fuse and it is good. I will check on the cap and rotor tomorrow, the wires and plugs look brand new. How much oil does it take?
  22. Thanks, here are some crappy night vision pictures I will put up some better ones tomorrow. that's the tranny I pulled out
  23. :confused:Ok so I drove it around town today for the first time since I put a new to me tranny in it. I have noticed some new issues. It hesitates in the lower rpms in first gear. It is shifting kind of rough and it waits a while. There are also some electrical gremlins that I need to figure out. For some reason the fan has been mickey moused to a constant power source, and it has just stopped blowing out of the defrost. No matter what setting I put it to it blows out the vents. Also the running lights don't turn off unless I pull a battery cable off. Like I said, I have been a jeep person my whole life so any advice would be really appreciated. Ok, it is a 2wd auto, I believe a three speed because it has 1, 2, and then D.
