Question about pcv system
I tried searching but couldn't find anything on the pcv system on here. I was looking at the service manual, and have a question about the pcv valve and system. If I remove the pcv valve, plug the hole in the manifold and just run the valvecover vents to a catch can will I be ok or is the pcv system metered and will it be venting off measured air? I already have a maf to turbo pipe with all the holes plugged. Where I live we don't have emissions testing and I would prefer not to vent air mixed with oil back into my intake manifold. Thank you

Is yours a turbo car?

The car is a factory turbo car. Everything on the car is the way it came in 1987. Too bad I didn't have a 4eat. I sourced the part from Gloyale on this board, so it looks like I will be up an going shortly! I can't wait!

Also, Subaru said they made 2 different sizes. 119.5 mm long and 132 mm long. I need the 132 mm long or 5.19 inches.

Would this be the 3at transmission? I just called the stealership and the stator shaft is obsolete so no longer available. If it was available it would of been $250.00.

- Fan side is cool, other side is warm...I think?
I have had good luck with good ol water. You could try to spray some sort of cleaner in there and spray water in and let it sit.- Fan side is cool, other side is warm...I think?
Take the radiator out and flush with a hose, also remove the 2 drains on the pass side on the the rad to see if there is any debris buildup.- Have you ever seen this break?
I just want to see the part you have to see if it could be compatible in any way. My part also bolts from the inside of the diff facing the front of the car so maybe I can swap some parts around. I looked for that thread but couldnt find it. I wish I could find a microfiche online.- lowering my EA82 FAQ
Is there any way you could host the pictures on the first post again so I could see the comparison. Thank you- Have you ever seen this break?
Do you have a picture of the one from your trans? Also I would appreciate it if you asked the subaru garage about one. I can't wait to drive it again!- EA82 Cooling problem
Did you replace your thermostat with a genuine oem unit? Flush your rad and heater core while you are at it, I was suprised how much junk was in there on mine.- Have you ever seen this break?
Well, 4x4 welder just pmed me and said his is different than mine so if anybody out there has a 1987 auto tranny laying around or know someone who does, I am in need of this part. Help!!!! Thanks Grant- Strange missing, can't work out why - 85 Turbo RX Leone
My thought was that he was mikstaking fuel cut for a miss. I mean how would he know it was just 1 cyl missing without getting too far into diagnosing it- Strange missing, can't work out why - 85 Turbo RX Leone
Are you hitting fuel cut?- Have you ever seen this break?
Thanks for filling in on what it is, It aligns the tc on the bell housing and the oil pump shaft and the other shaft run thru the center. The thing is, the car is in excellent condition and was never beaten. It was owned by a 70 year old lady from day one and it has 130k miles on it. Sounds like turbo automatics are more rare? The car has soo many abbreviations: Subaru XT GL-10 AWD Turbo. The water pump siezed and the car overheated that is why I pulled the motor oin the first place. I happened to look in the bell housing when I was cleaning the engine bay and saw it. The car ran and shifted perfect, which leads me to believe it must of been extremely fragile and broke when I pulled the motor. The 2 inner shafts are as straight as an arrow so I know I didn't bend it too far...- Have you ever seen this break?
I have my engine out to do a rebuild (1987 gl-10 awd turbo automatic) and I was looking at the bell housing/front diff cover and I saw this piece just hanging out. Looks like it sheared right off. How could this of possibly broke like this? The next question is does anyone have one of these I can buy? Please save me from going to the stealership! Thanks Grant - Fan side is cool, other side is warm...I think?
