  1. So I went and talked to the shop owner over lunch. It had been sitting at his buddies shop for a long time and the landlord made him clear off the excess cars, so this one got sent away. No one knows if it runs. All they know is it has no title, and no one there cares enough to part it. So I have to be quick on scooping up what I can.

  2. Not sure unfortunately. The owner isn't the friendlest or most talkative guy, so I couldn't get alot of info out of him. And yah, god willing I will grab those wheels off of it. The tires are toast, but the wheels have no damage on them whatsoever, just dirty.

If my budget allowed right now, I would just buy the shell and throw in the EJ22 I have sittin at home. But it's also an auto and I really dont wanna mess with a tranny swap

  3. Well, this just showed up at the shop behind my office a few hours ago.:eek:

Don't know any history on it, but judging from the steering column it was a theft recovery. And judging by the wasp nest in the tail pipe, the motor is done and its been sitting for awhile. So the sad news is, it's very complete and unmolested but it is going to the crusher at the end of the day. :(

The one bit of good news is they are going to let me pick off it before it leaves. Really is a shame though, because aside from the steering column damage, its a damn clean, rust free car.

Sorry the pic sucks, quick cell phone shot. It's a GL-10

I would be pickin parts for you guys if i had more time, but the owner insists it won't be here more than a day or two at most.

  4. I was gonna agree with Rat Fink and say go with an old E30 Bimmer. You can find those things dirt cheap but running if you look in the right places. Definately keep us updated on that Datsun

  5. Just picked up my complete engine and harness and ready to get this part knocked out. Guru, 4x4 Welder; can you PM me some prices to do this? I am local to CCR and they are wanting $250, hoping to go lower if possible.

EDIT: Didnt mean to exclude you from teh list Numbchux, I had just already hunted down the pricing on your website.

    Thanks :)

  6. I was afraid my oil pump or seals were bad when I bought my 88 GL, it ticked so loud you coulda sworn it was running without oil. But after I ran some Seafoam through the crankcase and then did an oil change with a good synthetic (Mobil 1) she purrs like brand new, turned out to be a stcking lash adjuster. Worth a try, it is decently cheap and could save you from messing with the oil pump. My .02 :)

As far as the price, if the motor is fresh, the tranny and 4WD work, and the body and interior are decent, I would say $1100 was a fair price.

  7. So I have been searching online for the better part of the morning for a bushing that either doesn't exist or no one sells. I am not sure if it is considered a trailing arm or a rear control arm. But long story short, the right rear wheel on the wagon has taken on an excessive amount of negative camber, and I have traced it back to a dissolved bushing on the right rear arm. I have tried searching online for both a trailing arm bushing or a rear control arm bushing to no avail. Any suggestions or recommendations on where to get these? It is pretty much holding up my alignment, so I am hoping to get one by the end of the week. I will try to get a picture by tomorrow afternoon to better clarify. Thanks in advance. :)
