  1. i have had that same problem .I own a 97 sub leg 2.5.now i use 93 only and runs better and more power.89 will work just not the performence i like
  2. i have a 97 suby legacy thats the same with me .i am getting 27 to 29 mpg and crap on the highway ..and black smoke out the tail pipe .when i go down a hill and then steep on it the smoke acures .i looked around and my egr valve isent working .not going in an out .i must have a vacume leak or egr needs to be cleaned or a new one ..the egr valve cane haunt ya to.
  3. thanks guys ..i am replaceing both rear struts in a few days and that will tell all .i am sure it must be something with them becuse thy are gone the rump roast end sways around corners or if i jurk the wheel back and forth the rump roast end feels lose ..thanks again ..i will post the results
  4. i will take a look . am changeing both struts next weekend and look then .well I hace gotton under it and looked .it all looks ok but i will do it with out the strut and mabie take of the control arms and compair both sides .with a micromerter .that is such a handy tool when i rebuilt the uper half of the engine i was able to make sure it was all in spec..I was thinking last night when i was looking at other post .that it would half to be some other part bent before the strut .it just makes sence .thanks
  5. hello again people ...just wondering if anybody has had a bent strut in the rear ..i have a 97 sub legacy sadan .its that or a bent hub .the rear tire is so ot of aligement the bottom of the tire sticks out and the top goes in .it has been like this since i bought it .dident care had crap tires on it ..now i got new tires and dont want it chewed up ..thanks for your time
  6. thanks alot ...i found the problem today .it was a pully the bearings were gone ..stupid thing ..all this trouble for a stupid pully thanks again

Hi guys .i got a 97 legacy with the 2.5 and it jumped time .and bent 2 valves .so i have tooken off the heads and did a complete valve job and got all new timeing gears (the whole timeing kit) when i took off the old belt it was loose I am hopeing thats the problem not so loose that its floping in the wind .ya know what i mean .the tencener was all the way out and frozz.so my question is what elce should i be looking for so that it doesent jump time .I am going to start putting it back togeather tomorow in the afternoon if its not raining .what do you think?
  8. yep it is running awsome and driveing awsome .the end links were shot .changed them no clunking and handles awsome.had to put new roters on shaking like crazy when putting brakes on .worked well and lubed up pins .well have a good one just letting you all know :burnout:

  11. its in the front ..in the back I got to to do the struts I can hear them squeak when I higt a bump just right.i checked all the springs and there all good .
  12. yep its the end links .i had a freind push the car up and down and side to side and yes they are bad .
  13. does it clunk bang every time you hit a bump and then when your going down the highway it just doesent feel right like it sways a little ?..this is a yes or no ?
