  1. Just pulled ECu had a little water inside and some moisture on the connector pins hmm not good.. seems like the ECu shorted to the water in the housing.. like a spider nest and then the water shorted it? I don't know if it can be saved..
  2. would it be above or under the carpet? also just took the kick plate off the ECU and you can see water droplets and moisture.. the foam stuff under the carpet is soaked :-/ How long do I have to let the wiring part of it dry?
  3. About to post my pictures but the water got as high as the underside of the door.. the grass clippings on each side of the door gave the clue as well as the tires that how the car got wet inside.. I do have a sunroof and that's the first thing I checked before getting in the car and it was dry.
  4. yesterday we had rainfall of 1 inch an hour.. Ok.. so I head out to work this morning and I noticed the car kind of stumble on start up.. it idled ok.. backed out of the parking space and went to pull out to leave and the car stalled.. and threw a code.. I went to scan the code and it would keep giving me no codes found.. So I managed to get the car to start again and I scanned while running and I got two codes: P0505 and P0105 also I noticed if I have the car in ACC or On some relays are clicking like crazy someplace under the dash.. And as I pulled the scanner plug out and proceeded to exit the car I saw puddles of water behind the drivers seat! and out of curiosity I went to check the passenger side and the area was damp in that area as well! did the ECU get damp? *edit I got two more codes that it spit out.. P0340 P0120 edit added youtube video
  5. Sitting in the car or pressing it with one foot while standing at the door. This has become a big mystery now since I thought it would be pretty easy to track.
  6. but why would it only make the sound when i pressed the throttle in the car but not make the sound when moving the throttle from the throttle body?
  7. Yes it does sound like it is however I can't narrow the sound down more until I get someone to hold my camera. after putting the belts back on I went on the highway and hung around 4K when it started and proceeded to test if i backed off a little but still on the throttle it would go away but as soon as I gave a little more throttle the sound was back.. As you can see it's fairly loud.. WRX owners say it sounds like a Blow-Off valve.
  8. Ok took off the belts.. now here is the really weird part... If I move the throttle from the engine bay no squeal at all.. but if I move the throttle from inside the car I get the squeal... Any guesses? I'd need a 2nd person to film while im in the car since I can't find my tripod plate
  9. Hmm the pump does have a little leak.. never thought it would be something like that given how free the pulley spins without a belt on it I'd figured it would make the sound way before it got that high.. I will check that too tomorrow providing we don't get flooded out what's left of this hurricane.
  10. Well I changed the T-belt about 5 months ago I brought a Tq wrench just for that job.. I can check again but I doubt it got loose since I had a Subaru meet and I saw first hand what happens when a crank pully will eat up the key. I will try the spray tomorrow morning.
  11. 95 legacy wagon As you might be able to see in the video I have 208K
  12. I question... my car "ticks" are all speeds idle or at speed I was told to check to see which is bad.. but before going that way I was checking at the Subaru parts site and I see nothing but the SVX lifters are shown.. is that right? Anyways since I would have the valve covers off besides the lifters and gasket what else should I replace/inspect? Also reading around I understand they should not compress at all when the lifters are out and if they do they are bad.. given the age of my car and with 208K miles I should just go ahead and replace all of them? If so how many lifters in all does the car have?
  13. if I have to do the o rings at the expansion valve might as well change out the evaporator as well since it looks a bit "rough" the oil i brought as i stated before comes in a can with r134a I also have a can of r134a with UV but given that leak I really don't need that... and of course I would replace the receiver/dryer it's cheap enough to do it period.
  14. Hmm I have not started to fix it until after July 4th however I put in fog lights and removed the whole front bumper and I noticed the AC condenser had a dark oily spot where a fin looked like it been hit pretty sure that's where my leak is coming from.. I mean what else would cause a oil spot in that area.. oh well at least I can get in a new condenser.. was not looking forward to having to drain the coolant :-/
  15. well turns out because I had no fogs from the factory I had no bracket... So I had to drill two holes and used a total of 4 5/16's 2" long bolts and nuts with locking washers. Finally got it in.. putting the bolt in was a pain because the washer was hitting on the bumper part in front of the bumper beam.
  16. I know what both sounds like and no my check engine light is not on.. I replaced the knock sensor like 3 months ago since it looked like some rodent made a nest in that area. And when i say under load I'm only talking about anyplace between 1% throttle to 100% I wonder are the HLA tend to need adjusting around this mileage?
  17. I need help.. so my fogs arrived and I removed the front bumper skin off.. however I don't see anything that the fogs mount onto for the car... I have the bolts and everything but I can't figure out where.
  18. you only really hear it under any load I will try to get a sound clip this morning
  19. I don't know why I've taken this long to ask this but I noticed whenever on the throttle.. can be light or hard I get this sound.. the best I can describe it is a chain on a sprocket sound. I was going to buy fuel injector cleaner on Saturday but for some reason I decided not to at the time. I just did a sound file under the hood however the engine is way too loud for me to pick out the sound in question. I can see if I can get get it later tonight with all the windows open. the car is a 95 Legacy L wagon with 203K miles.
  20. I plan on going with the hella supertones I own a wagon so that should pretty much give the reason away why I need something a little louder.
  21. Anyone know what is the part number for the bulb behind the A/C switch? I went to the dealer and they said they could not find a part number for it.. I'm pretty sure the switch should light up right?
