Friend with 96 Legacy L problem on hills
1-3-2-4 replied to 1-3-2-4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXhmm well she kind of annoyed me before she left.. she made it tried to seem like her friend knew more about Subarus then I did (this is my 5th one) So at that point I was like &^^( it.. kinda why her Saturn crapped the bed as well... anyways bad oxygen sensor and knock sensor dumps raw fuel to the front cat and now we have a damaged cat? I just got tired of telling her yesterday to take care of the knock sensor (says it's too much auto zone wants like $65 or so..

1-3-2-4 replied to 1-3-2-4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXugh some people just don't need to own Subaru's.. she's just going to do the oxygen sensor first and maybe the splug plugs if need be. I'm concerned about that misfire.

Friend with 96 Legacy L problem on hills
First of all I told her to let me look at the car before she moved to TN.. Anyways she left CT with the CEL on for the knock sensor.. So she took it to some guy who fixes car and could not tell if the car had two knock sensors or not.. Anyways long story short she tells me when she goes up hills now the car is like really jerky and acting like it wants to cut off.. I told her to go get the engine codes pulled for free but that still seems like it's too hard to do.. Now shes trying to get the knock sensor replaced but I don't think that's really going to help her.. So in the event that it does not what other symptoms can cause this? I said plugs, plug wires.. fuel filter.. it's too hard to tell.. *ok she just told me.. she has the code for the knock sensor, Oxygen Sensor and a misfire on cylinder 1.

Question when I get this part do I just need the pipe or the parts that screw into the filler neck? they don't look rusted and the screws look fine.

Flywheel
1-3-2-4 replied to Arty's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXspeaking about that heavy flywheel in the EJ25.. wow I thought I stalled my car in traffic yesterday just as the light turned green wow the tach went all the way down to zero 0 and I was like aww ^&%$^&$ and I went to go put in in neutral and reach for the key but it had enough momentum and the tach jumped back up to idle. I was like damn that would never happen with the EJ22 flywheel.

1-3-2-4 replied to 1-3-2-4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI got my fuel calculation finally 18 MPG however I expect it to go up to around 20-22 while trying to maintain 60 mph. only thing is basing off the current numbers I have I can't figure out how much that would get me from the tank.. around 300 or so?

1-3-2-4 replied to 1-3-2-4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXwell I don't have dampers on them and they lost the screws.. so far it's holding I was expecting on some bumps it was going to snap back and roll up. haha whatever you do make sure you car has one of these.. I was shocked what the going prices are on ebay.. almost $100.. I'd love to buy one and just list it for $20..

Anyone with an 97 OB do me a favor?
I need help finding what missing hardware I need. the rear cover is missing the tabs on the Tonneau cover and it's just got metal brackets.. the parts image here is not close up enough to see what other stuff I need http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/us_b11/type_47/body_equipment_interior/tonneau_cover/ I'm not sure what that damper piece is.. but I can provide a picture of what it looks like now.. I want to replace it because it's scratching up the trim on the panel in the rear.

fuel smell when I have a full tank
1-3-2-4 replied to 1-3-2-4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXHow does one get to the tank cover on the outback? On my 95 it was easy because the carpet just folded back, I'm going to guess it's under those pieces with the ring hooks? but I can't figure out how to pull them up without the risk of breaking something
