  1. Ok Ill take it all apart, and I have some rtv sealant to put in there Thanks alot.
  2. So I replaced my head gasket on the passanger side and got it all back togather and water leaks from what it seems like the intake manifold?? When I squeez on the tube coming off the radiator it leeks like right behind the manifold somewhere it drips into the spark plug holes 1,3. The engine runs great and there's no water getting into the oil so I'm pretty sure that I did my gaskets right. And I did put a gasket between the head and the intake manifold. what could be leaking? Engine-EA82T Car-XT Thanks for all suggestions.
  3. Thanks alot I wish I would of known that earlier, but I hope this is the last major thing wrong with the car, I know there will probably other things that need to be done but it should run good after both headgaskets. Im gonna try and start it tomorrow.
  4. I thought about it but I have no way of getting it to my house, I got the manifold on with out pulling the engine. I loosened the motor mounts and jacked it up and it slipped passed the head.
  5. Oh ya I wouldn't use the wrong size it's just a little long and might drill in an angle but my drill Im gonna use is smaller and it fits in the engine bay
  6. Yes! thats exactily what I need! but everything is closed cause its memoral weekend and it's sunday :[ I found out that I have a smaller drill, and it fits almost perfect So I think im going to try that out.
  7. Well lol I started torquing the bolts down and of course the block has to strip out. so I still have all the stuff I need to heli coil it But my bit is to long. I tryed jacking the engine up so It is slanted more but my jack dosent go any higher. I either need a smaller drill bit or just drill. Or a bigger jack? What should I do?
  8. Ok well I think I might try jacking up the engine Cause I got the head on perfect no scratching the gasket at all and I got the little tube on that goes on the turbo from the head( im guessing turbo lube?). I hope I can get the header on because the job is easy after that is done. Any suggestions on how to get the header on while the head is on?? Thanks!
  9. This gasket will be permatorque the last one was one off of ebay so I might have to re torque it... How long do I have untill I have to re torque it? Ya I thought the car was fixed with the first headgasket, it ran good then My oil got white and so I figured I need to replace the other gasket, and it was bad! Thanks for all the info too!
  10. Wow thanks a lot! That's exactily what I wanted to hear :] I didnt know that you could put the header back on after the head on, wow that was what my whole problem was! Ill let you know if I need someone Thanks a million!
  11. Well I was kinda dumb and didnt take off the turbo and I didnt think you could take the header off because it might not fit back on with the head on? I was also dumb and I took the head off before taking the turbo off so now it twists other stuff when I try to take it off. I should have just taken it all apart the right way but I was impatient. so the new head gasket will be here tomorrow and all suggestions/help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your interest, I really don't want to sell it Ive probably put more money into it than I got it for
  12. The passenger side head gasket is too hard to get on and I messed up the gasket... So now I'm tired of working by my self, so who wants to buy a 1986 subaru xt turbo 113,000 miles ran good even with two blown head gaskets now it only has one blown. I really dont want to sell it but my hands are all messed up now and I dont have any help. Would anyone want to do the job for money?
  13. Oh I would have put a new gasket but I didnt know they made one my friend said to just use rtv.... oh well when I can drive it around Ill go get parts then. Thanks for the suggestions though
  14. well It ran today I dont know what changed from yesterday? But people talk about codes? what are those codes? Thanks.
  15. Well It was my pump because I took the fan shroud off and the fan and the pump bolts were only finger tight so I put rtv sealer on as a gasket and put more rtv sealer around the o-ring that you are talking about there was water all around the pump so that was what was leaking. I'm going to try and start it again tomorrow and see if anything leaks Thanks for the help! :]
  16. On my subaru xt turbo EA82t I just dont know if it is the water pump? I'm wondering where the water pump is, is in the front of the engine just above the oil pan? and does the fan belt run the pump? I would try taking a picture but my camera eats batteries. Thanks :]
  17. I replaced my head gasket and now my car wont start, I'm pretty sure I timed it right and even if I didn't it would at least try and start, I'm thinking it's not getting any spark? I sprayed starter fluid in the intake and that use to make it start for a few seconds but this time it wouldent. Could there been anything I did wrong that would make it not get spark or just not start?
  18. Okay, if not I have a whole metal shop with hundreds of drill bits so it should be okay, I hope. I just don't want my apartments getting mad because the car has been parked in a visitor spot for so long!
  19. Awesome find Looks great for $100! Have fun with it!
  20. Alright we will have to see friday then I should be able to put the whole thing back together :] Thanks for all the help!
  21. OK never mind I just ordered the correct size kit and Im going to take back the one that I bought. In the mean time what is the size of hole that I need to drill? Or could I tap right into the preexisting striped threads?
  22. What does this mean? M12 x 1.75 x 9 Should I use this size helicoil and get a new bolt?
  23. Well I called ace hardware and they said they have a 12mm 1.25 but I need a 11mm 1.25 right? And the bolt fit right into a 7/16 20 could I use that too??
  24. Well I might as well get the helicoil if thats the easiest way to do it, I dont want to warp the head and I no nothing about converting torque according to the dia. of the bolt. I'm going to go to the fasnal right down the street and see if they have any helicoil. Thanks for all the suggestions too!
  25. Right now I don't have that kind of money to do that and the 1/2 tap fits into the head hole and I think it will work. and nobody has the right size helicoil
