mcbrat is right with a body lift you need to extend everything that goes to the drivetrain.

no someone else was asking about my strut mount extentions and that was all icould come up with to show the principle of the angles.

This is a rough drawing of the front strut tower from the side angle.

the rear was done by a friend That I bought the BRAT from, so for info on that you sould probably talk to "THE BOSS" or beast I drive on the forums. The strut towers I did Myself and yeah you just figure out the angles on the strut tower which I think is 15 degrees, and just drop the mounting surface the height of the lift. And its six inch Lift on mine. and yes they are factory CV joints

  14. dude that wagon is awesome I think that is the epiphany of what a mountain rig is.
  15. Well The problem is solved, so for anyone who searches this thread for answers my problems were that the guy who built the lift before i bought it did not compensate for strut mount angles, so the front strut was bound up. Also he clocked the rear torsion bars so the rear was about 3" higher than the front end, which in turn messed up the caster on the front end. After everything was done went for a test drive and got it to 70mph(downhill) not A wobble also the alignment must be good cuz it goes straight even with no hands on the wheel. I'm thrilled to have it on the road and running again.

    New wheels.

yeah the rims i picked up have alot of offset plus one inch spacers i think i'll make it. plus i think i might go with 215/75/15 instead cuz i wont be doing strictly off road with it.

    New wheels.

just found 6*5.5 to 6*5.5 1" thick for 75.00 a pair so I will prob buy a set from ezaccessories unless anyone has had bad dealing with these guys
  18. if you adjust the torsion bars to get the lift you might get an unstable ride mine was clocked up when i got it and i couldnt go above 50 mph with out it feeling like i was gonna launch off the road. if you clock the back end up the camber is messed up.

    New wheels.

whell the set i have to mock up with are 235/75//r15's so kinda thought that wout be the height i would like to have also do i absolutly need to switch to the d/r for the drive train to hold up if so I will prob wait till after I get one installed.

    New wheels.

well I got all my camber and control issues worked out today, so on to the next project. I found some six lug toyota rims and tires and want to mount them. whats the best way to convert to a six lug, I heard I should drill it out because four lugs would not handle the amount of torque of any tire bigger than 26". Is this true? and if so where is the best place to get some wheel spacers for the rear, this is a gen1 lift so the torsion bars are in the way. also anyone know where to get some decent universal fender flairs.
  21. well i installed the pieces i built for the front strut mounts and it sucked the top of the tires in a inch, So i guess compensating for the angles and lift are important. gonna tighten everything up and test drive tonight after the comes home. also how do i post photos do i need a online pic account?
  22. when you find out pm me I'm thinking of doing this as well
