  1. hi everyone, my 86 gl water pump gave out. I was looking online to get another but there's too many . If somebody could help out it would be appreciated. I have an 86 gl with an ea82 engine, factory installed(?) air and front wheel drive, automatic trans, 4 door. thanks for any help.

  2. Hi all, I finally found the tube lift info from Markus56, I have an 86gl sedan that I want to lift. What is done for the rear lift? Is it the same as posted using the bolt under the rear seat to raise it? Thanks for any info. Will post pix when it happens. Also how do you drop crossmember? Do you need some kind of spacers and is it difficult?

  4. hi all, I want to lift my 86 gl sedan 2". I saw plans for steel tubes and blocks that could be made and installed without much hassle' but can't find them now. I don't do any off road stuff just want a little more clearance and maybe some higher tires. any help would be appreciated. thanks

  5. hi all, being a new soob owner i'm confused by all the terms and lingo used on the forums. I have an 86gl sedan with a 1.8 engine and auto trans. I know it sounds stupid but what are the terms that go to my soob (ea82, etc) this way i can know what to look for in the forums. thanks for your tutoring:confused:

  6. hi all, I have an 86gl with a 1.8 eng and auto trans. The ECS light comes on after the engine runs a short time.I also noticed a lack of power on acceleration and on hills. I replaced the plugs and wires but got little help. I also checked the timing but wasn't sure if i did it right. this is my 1st foreign car and don't know if i missed something in the process. I had the timing belts replaced and oil pump resealed a while back. not much change after that either. Thanks for any help.

  7. I just did a caliper on an 86gl with the e brake on it, after removing the piston and seal in the caliper. I was having a hard time getting the piston started on the screw insid the piston. I removed the e brake cable and pulled the lever to make the screw higher to install the piston. I wired the lever to keep the screw higher to get the piston started on the screw.i hope this can help someone , it made it easier for me.

  8. I have an 86 gl and want to rebuild the front brake calipers.I ve read about removing the calipers and was wondering how to install the piston without messing up the threads. I take it there are threads inside since the piston has to be turned to get clearance for the pads. thanks for any help.
