  1. weird enough the plug wire keeps popping off on the drivers side. I probably need to replace them but even so I feel them snap into place but after a few minutes it pops off again...
  2. this is beginning to be just stupid, the spark plug wire keeps popping off of the spark plug causing the car to run rough. I push them all the way in until I feel it click...time for new wires...
  3. I am having the same issue with my 90 2.2 with 363k miles...wonder if it is the fuel pump...hmmm
  4. I did notice the dip stick to the transmission was a little low... and what color should it be? I assume there is a drain plug under neath
  5. 90 leg 2.2 362,000 miles, 5 speed manual...I doubt anything has been done to the transmission, what service is suggested, if any? I am starting to get a grind going into 3rd.
  6. okay see if this makes sense. I have an intermittent CEL, So I checked the codes when the CEL Was NOT illuminated. Are there two plugs on the right side of the steering column that are used for the codes stored in memory? and if so, do I need both the green plug and the memory plug connected? does that make sense? I see a yellow and black (four pin) connector but I don't see where to plug the black on in to retrieve the historic codes...90 legacy 2.2
  7. what a dork...I think one of the plug wires was just a little loose...i feel like a turd
  8. So I have an CEL going off and on. I went to Autozone and apparently they are unable to read codes in cars 96 and older. So do any other parts stores read codes??? 90 legacy
  9. well now it is acting up again, upon acceleration it really starts to sputter..., especially starting off in first gear...fuel problem or????
  10. at what point would I need to lengthen the steering shaft?
  11. you may have to jump start the compressor if it is empty, all I did was take a wire from the battery to the hot wire on the compressor
  12. did you have to modify the steering column with that much height?
  13. well replaced plugs, PVC, gas filter, oil and oil filter and voila...power back...didn't realize how long ago I replaced the plugs...they were showing a lot of wear. Also, I always forget about the PVC valve...
  14. I wonder about getting spring lifts http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/SPR4/181601/N1716.oap?******=Search_N1716_1269345_3825&pt=N1716&ppt=C0361
  15. gonna go do a tune up on it this morning. will report back
  16. correct me if I misread something but I understand that the front struts should bolt right in but the rear may be different because the spring is conical shaped in stead of cylindrical, and the bolt pattern on top was different. The solution was to use the legacy springs and top piece....
  17. Has anyone put outback struts on a legacy? I have a 90 legacy and would like a little more lift out of it. Would outback struts give me a little more height? Is it as simple as swapping them out or would I need to make any adjustments, especially to the steering system.
  18. Ya, I am wondering about compression, hopefully the weather clears this weekend and I can get a closer look. What other symptoms would appear if it were the cat converter?
  19. no, if that was happening I would know it was the clutch
