  1. Nice work mate...I should be able to hear you before I see you. I drive the crappy blue 90 legacy with the maroon hatch...honk if ya see me around Oly!
  2. ..and are you nuts is not a suggestion...LOL:lol::lol:
  3. Ya, I thought the guy was asking way to much for a salvage title and bad engine I was more curious than anything
  4. here is the CL link with pix http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/cto/2289788462.html
  5. Well, by the looks of the picture, which I can't get posted, it looks like one of the camshaft teethed pullies?? It looks like it is just below the top radiator hose.
  6. So I saw this on CL its a 1999 outback Our mechanic said it needed new head gaskets it has 200k miles on it. So we paid a small fortune to have them replaced, Along with the timing belts and dampener pulleys. It ran great for a month or so and died on us. I am not a mechanic Looks like one of the pulleys came off and it spun the new timing Belt. So I know this is pure speculation, but what else could have gone wrong...bent valves? Is it worth repairing or just replace with ej22? He is asking 2k for it. I have a picture but can't seem to upload it.
  7. not sure what the other pic is but I think it may be the hill holder spring
  8. That seems okay...I wonder if it is one of the pedal switches
  9. speedometer works just fine....I will check the vacuum line
  10. 90 legacy 5sp wagon...Cruise control stopped working all of a sudden. When I push the cruise control button I can hear the relay but when I actuate the lever on the steering wheel, nothing happens....where do I start looking?
  11. the 90 is my daily driver now...it is just wearing out, I could probably fix everything that it needs...needs alot of tlc, thanks for the advice!
  12. Your point about the mileage is well taken...I am not sure if it is the original engine or not. I guess the other option would be to pop the engine out of the 97 and reseal it
  13. so maybe this is the question I need answered. I am looking at a 97 OBW manual that has a blown head gasket and front main seal oil leak. Will my 90 2.2 manual fit in the 97 OBW?
  14. The reason I ask is because I have a 90 legacy with 330k on it and I have no idea of the history of the car, I got it for free, just had to hook the clutch cable up and change fluids. It had been sitting for 3 years before I gained control and the previous owner didn't know what had been done prior to his ownership...I was just trying to see if it was the original engine... Would this engine fit in a 97 OBW?
  15. Hi, How can I tell if the engine in my 90 legacy is the original? If not, is there a way to tell what year the engine is? Also, it is my understanding that the 2.2 engine 90-94 are the same but 95 and above have EGR components...is that correct? Thanks
  16. So, 1990 legacy wagon, I think the engine has about 150k...just started smelling radiator fluid, don't see any leaks anywhere, fluid is the correct color, but here is the kicker, when the car sits at idle, the air coming out of the heater gets cooler. I have no issues with the car overheating...any ideas? Head gasket going???
  17. 90 legacy 304,000, replacing cv joints and valve cover gaskets this weekend
