  1. Or not. Was just informed I HAVE to sell it. It's a non running car, and according to the lease, I can't have it... :[ So. Check the part out/ for sale forums. I loved that car. I actually cried when I crashed it...
  2. So, I wrecked my Roo today. I rear ended a semi. Car won't spark, but it will turn over. I'm keeping the Roo. I'm gonna try and get it looking nice again. :] I'll be around.
  3. That was well put. Im not sure what exactly I was thinking. The Celica fell through. Now im hunting down new heads, because my exhaust needs to be re drilled, and no one will do it. People in Nashville are scared of aluminum. Pansies.
  4. So I pulled codes finally. Thank you Grossgary for the link to the XTforum, and thank you GLoyale for the tip about the "no stored codes" Mine did the same thing, and thats how I got these Codes. 31 Throttle sensor or circuit 32 Oxygen sensor or circuit 34 EGR solenoid or circuit 35 Purge control solenoid or circuit Whats a Purge control solenoid, and how do I fix 31? O2 sensor will get changed, and the EGR will get a 33 Ohm, 5 Watt resistor, thank you GD. Your not THAT much of an rump roast. But seriously. Whats purge control? Exhuast? Cause mines still super messed up. Thanks guys, going to get some parts today hopefully. EDIT: Wow. If its the throttle POSITION sensor, Junkyard special. Duralast/Throttle Position Sensor Part Number: TPS4032 Price: $399.99 Thats more than I paid for my car. That's more than 4 new tires cost me, plus a tow. On a happy note, the Oxygen sensor is 20 bucks.
  5. Wow. Been awhile. Alright. Got a new car, and 88 celica, and thanks to the forums, I've decided to keep my soob. Question #1- Application of brakes. what will fit my DL? disc on front, drums on rear. I tried Using the search function, but it didn't want to work for me. It kept telling me I needed to wait, then it would timeout. I need a new cailper, and a WHOLE new back drum system. backing plate, everything. I actually have a steady income now. the transmission will have to wait until it explodes, and when it does, it's getting an automatic again. Question #2- how hard is it to adjust timing, and replace a belt without pulling the motor? If someone could link the post, that would be much appreciated. Question #3- I put 8000 miles on my car in less than 2 weeks. Also, got a wally world oil change. -.- Any suggestions as what i should do as far as fluids, belts, hoses, anything. This is my work car, so I can't put it out of Commission for more than a weekend. So, to answer the first question, anyone have some brake parts? I need a front passenger caliber, and a rear pass. drum. everything melted inside it, so i don't know if anything is reusable as far as the backing plate goes.
  6. Ah. makes sense now. Well, molded rubber, but unfortunately, I'm gonna have to get rid of my soob, and either find another one, or go with a Handa. It's been a great car, but the previous owner just didn't really take care of it. He did a rebuild on it less than 20K ago and it drips oil out the driver's side heads. The trans has never been touched, and it had 22 year old fuel filter, plug wires, and he re-used all the gasket's apparently. I tried to fix my exhaust problem today, but the bolts had been taken out of the block once already, so they wont seal right anymore. It's just getting to a point where the money going into it is way too much.
  7. Haha, but I don't need Legacy glass. I need DL glass. Mines broke. I covered it with duct tape. :]
  8. Sooby, did you just offer me glass I can't use? I almost said yes, then I read it again. haha. Slickness with a quickness.
  9. Can I use a Legacy's quarter glass for my 88 DL? There's 4 in pull-a-part. a 90, a 91, a 94, and a 92. Can I use any of these?
  10. okay, so i picked this up while working at Vavoline. Dawn. Yes, Dawn, this dish soap. That stuff is amazing at getting grease off of you. If you have grease all over you, oil, trans fluid, whatever, take a shower, bring some dawn. shower with it, then use your body wash of choice. I prefer Axe or Old Spice... P-p-p-p-p-p-POWER! BUILDING KICK! EXPLOSIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON! Sorry, side tracked.... ANYWAY. Yeah, Dawn works wonders. I've washed my hair with it too, it pulls it right out, then just run some conditioner through it, or you hair will feel like a cacti. :] just my two cents.
  11. Yeah. I forgot to mention what ever happened with that. I tore my dash apart, found the wire, and put it on my horn switch. Pressed the horn, BAM. Instant wire meltage to my hand, jeans, dash, and both connections... oh yeah, plus it was on fire in one spot. I didn't even BEGIN to think about using 10ga, or even 12 ga... nope, grabbed the first thing I found, partly because I was kinda irked and wanted something to take my mind of stuff... Yeah, It was 20ga. it was melted and firey. That ended any and all thoughts about running my starter to a switch. I did however take my stock soob to an ORV Park about 3 weeks ago, before my car started to do bad things. And told some guys in a truck... "Silly boys, Cars are for mudding too." They thought it was hilarious. Till I powered through a hole that his truck got stuck in. Then he thought it was bad rump roast, and wanted to know where he could get one. They also ended up pulling me out of a sinkhole. so glad for tow hooks on front. im also glad my exhaust is broke at the motor, cause it was buried at the back end.
  12. Theres a write up on a 5spd from 3at on an ea81. will it be the same for an ea82? Im wondering if i will need the same parts, such as those plates that bolt it up to the crossmember.
  13. Well, instead of checking the timing, because I don't have an engine hoist, I decided to look for a job. I drove to Manhattan, which is about 1.5 hours from here. My 3AT decided to blow its fluids all over the road... as im doing 70. I realized about the time it whine on deaccel. I pull over, and huh. I'm dry. It needed something, so I threw trans-x in it. It held till I could get to the closest gas station, 9 miles away. Welcome to BFE KS, where Dextron III costs 1.89 for 2. :] I got it home, to find out that my Dextron and what is left of the gear oil in the torque converter might congeal, because ones a synthetic, and one is... not i guess.. I dont remember how he explained it. But yeah, If there is no validity to this statement what-so-ever, I'm gonna go ahead with the manual trans swap. Thank you mdjdc. If their is validity to it... well, my brother's smarter than I thought he was, and I'm still gonna Man trans it out. I want to thank all you guys that have went to sold me parts, then I couldn't get them. I wanted that AWD trans, but, I couldn't afford it anymore. I wanted that passenger mirror, but, now I really can't afford it. i'm hoping that the trans will bolt up, not questions asked. that would be awesome. I'm also thinking that my subaru is on its last legs. I really need to get a second daily, and tear that one down, and fix it right... not rely on lucas and sea foam. Haha, in unrelated non-subaru news, I found an abandoned toyota supra, just like my old one... only turbo. So, I might get that, and make that into my daily. It looked good, and I've already got a motor and 5 speed trans if that one is done. Well, here's to hopes and dreams
  14. I couldn't find anything that had two blues and a black. I found one with a blue, a blue yellow, a black, a green, and reds. That was the closest. Good luck with it.
  15. Ive got an 88 Dl, ill take a look. I dont exactly know if it will be the same.
  16. I have not checked timing yet. It started when i blew my tire, and it just dawned on me. When I blew my tire, It took out my wiring harness, and it made my jump around, alot, enough to undo two of my spark plugs. Thats about the time that my car started doing this, which which is why it puzzled me. Now it makes sense, I bet I jumped a tooth or two. Thanks Eul! Ill check it tonight and see where it goes from there.
  17. okay, got a question and still need an answer to my last one. Alright. My horn buttons are annoying. I dont like them there. So i got an idea. Button start using one of my horn buttons. My horn button will be relocated to the floor, like an old trucks high beam switch. So, I have all the materials to do this, cept the button for the horn, and I never use them anyway, so I might just delete the horn. My question is, How would I go about doing this? Pop the bottom panel off of my steering column and take the "starter" wire and run it to my horn button? Because that seems way to dang easy. So, am I missing a piece here, or is that really all their is to it? I know ill have to make the wire longer, so do I need a certain gauge? I looked up some stuff on random honda forums, and found that everyone seems to go with 10-12ga. wire. suggestions? haters? anything? I'm feeling like going from to My brother also does demo derbys, so I yacked the horns off of his car. I'm gonna run two to the back bumper if I keep my horns, then every time I find a horn, add it to a new place.
  18. What Monstaru was getting at is, their are tons of threads at what you can do. Just search for them. :]
  19. Well, that sucked. So me and my brother looked up Autozones hours. It said they closed at 9. it was 530, and its a 2 hour drive. We hoped on his motocyle, and left at 6. We didnt get their till about 830. yeah, they closed at 8. Good news? the other auto zone had my distributor cap. So, I got that. got home at midnight last night, planned on taking my brothers truck to work. well, woke up at 700, had to be at work at 800. Me and my brother decided to fix my car, and get it moving. I found a roll pin last night, threw that in, dropped the old tie rod, put a new on in, and put the disy cap on. Have to get my rotor later. I cant figure out why I have absolutly no "go". If I floor it from idle, the motor dies. Does anyone know what that could be? I mean absolutly ANYTHING. MAF, intake, and vacuum lines are all good. The plugs and wires were replaced 2 months ago. so, any ideas?
  20. well, crap. DrifTek is taken as well. Drift Depot it is. hahaha. Thats for showing me that, I thought ralliart was the only thing taken, and thats by Mitsu oddly enough.
  21. Okay. So, fuel filter, Cap and rotor, and a tie rod castle nut are what I'm getting tomorrow. If anyone is wondering, Rallytek is the name of a shop I plan to open, as a branch of another shop that me and a buddy are opening in NorCal, DrifTek, or Drift Depot. RallyTek specializes in Rally, DrifTek specializes in drifting. one of these days, this won't be a fix build, it will be a BUILD build. here's to good times with Subaru.
  22. Well, car drives now. But refuses to drive. The disy cap and rotor are done. took those apart and cleaned them. the corrosion was making the contacts. so, it will moce slowly, but anything over Idle its goes.. yeah, no. and dies. So, this is now my "build thread"
  23. No joke dude. it was going good until i smacked the control arm with a wrench to get it off the tie rod so i could take the tie rod bolt out to get it machined. yeah, different story on that one. when i smacked the arm, i totally forgot about the spring, and the ungodly amount of pressure that control arm was holding for me.... until the control arm let go. i remembered then. oh yes. about the time the jack shot out from under the caliber and hit curb, my shoulder and the hub because great friends. that hub was doing about 90mph from 3 inches away. the jack hit the curb, then i hit the curb, and then i said out loud... "i just broke my cv, i dont even have to look at it." didnt quite break, but irked me all the same. I had a lug nut impression right below my scar until this morning. it was cool, shoulda got a picture.
  24. Sad. haha one of them fell of and lodged itself into my rear suspension, my brother found it.... then laughed at me. the other on, the head of the bolt broke off, and my brother is gonna pull it out for me. and yes, yes i have. i spent 4 hours bleeding all 4 of my brakes, because i thought their was air in the lines. I actually use the caliber now as a jack point. I'm small, and i cant get that control arm down far enough to get the tie rod bolt through, so i jack it up about an a quarter of an inch, then i can push it down onto it. :]
