  1. When i had a bad alternator that was causing randome surges i blew two set of brand new bulbs and it was only the high beams. If one of the wires in the bulbs are broken then i would check all of ur connections to make sure they are getting proper load to them and if they are fine maybe try testing the relays to make sure they arent going out. Also have u tried pulling the lever toward u just to see if they work, if it works then u know its the lever

  2. One of my buddy's has a 94 isuzu 4x4 pickup and in the door it says it was assembled by subaru. I believe also inside my door it says my 90 legacy was assembled by isuzu, i dont know what im tryin get at lol. But maybe it has somethin to do with it, or maybe they just put a subaru emblem on it. Ive never seen a grill that says subaru tho, its always just the subaru badge on it.

  3. I just went through this with my car, its not that new tho. But anyways i did everything u just described that u did to ur alternator then i finaly just broke down cuz i was tired of it happening and bought a new alternator because it was only $140 for a new one with a lifetime warranty for asnlong as i own my car from napa compared to the cheapest place i could get mine rebuilt at for $90. But i can almost say for sure its the alternator.

  4. So from what i have resear hed i think they they wouldnt be compatible with the subaru transmission and would also be a lttle big. I know people that have them on their toyota's, but i still think they would be a little big.

  5. It is a gear splitter so basicaly u would have low range, regular, then high of each gear. It is a transfer case basicaly and can be added to many vehicles. They arent just for tractors i dont think. I even know of a guy that had two on his 4wheelin rig, could u imagine the gearing, that would be awsome they arent too big for a subie, but the question is would it work or be able to mount in or on the transmission or were ever it would need to go. My dad was explaining how u would do it but i just wasnt gettin it so he told me to ask u guys. He says that if u want a serious offroading rig u would want a brownie in it. Even if u guys dont know what it is i would still like u to google it because this could be a great thing for everyone, for the ej cars that dont have d/r's and for the ea guys that would like some lower gearing.

  6. I was talkin to my dad about my future plans for my subaru and he was askin me if u could stick a brownie on a subie. Has anyone done this or is it even possible. I dont know enough about them or our transmissions to tell him if we could or not so he told me to ask u guys on the forum. He said if i realy want a serious fourwheelin rig i would put a brownie in it. I dont think that im gonna dedicate my car to fourwheelin that much, but maybe in the near future. Anyways sorry if i was rambling on if anyone knows the answer to this feel free to give any info or opinions u have.

  7. If u guys want a real challenge and the best 4wheelin u will ever do come down here to southern oregon amd hit the mcgrew trail. Its a pretty famous 4x4 spot. They hold a jeep run every year here. I warn u though its pretty hardcore but it would be the best place u could go. U can look it up on line just google mcgrew trail. I know u guys are comin from washington mostly and it would be a far drive cus its almost at the southern oregon border but i garuantee u guys would not regret it. :)

  8. My 90 Awd legacy just hit 300k about two weeks ago and i'll hit 301 tommorow. Im hopin it makes it to 400k :). I know the body will cuz im gonna replace the motor when it goes. The motor still feels strong, im in the middle of a little road trip from southern oregon to washington, im goin back home tommorow. She's still gettin 30 miles to the gallon too.

  9. I just didnt want anyone to have to go through what i went through. I pulled 4 different alternators had em tested and none of them were good then finaly they ordered one from portland and i got that one tested and it tested out fine, but when i got it in my car it gave me tons of problems. I shoulda just spent the big bucks on a new one so i didnt have to pay twice or go through the headache of deqling with it. Im sure there are decent ones out there but if u plan on havin ur car for a long time, i would get a new one. It sucked dealin with what i went through. It blew two sets of headlight bulbs also. Luckly they were still under warranty or there would have been another $50.
