  1. yea, I'm in New Zealand and own a single range 4wd ea81 1984 sedan. Which rases a question, why only in NZ (and presumably Australia) and what are the major differences between ours and the North American models? (apart from the obvious right hand drive things) This matters a lot to me as I only own US manuals and get a lot of info from this site.
  2. I've got the same problem. I put it on the spare tyre when i was filling up the engine with oil. After about half an hour of driving there was this huge clunk, from what i later realised was the thing hitting something on it's way down. I'm broke so i can't afford a new one (something like US$10) (I'm in New Zealand if anybody wants to post me one for NZ$5). Um, I don't know what the story with your guys engines are, i've been running it with the cap off for two weeks no problem, it's an ea81 engine. I had a rag stuck down it but it came out sometime over the last few days. Anyway, the filler hole is 50ml wide, so i'm going shopping tonight for some baby food, from what i've seen they come in 50ml wide cans. I figure i could just cut the end off that and make the tabs and then stick a washer down the end. Think it'll work?
  3. I had a problem with my '84 GLF not idling and It was just that the air filter heat setting was wrong. Just check that if it's set to summer that it's in the nick just below the middle and not at the extreme setting. (that'll sound stupid but it'll make sense when you look at the air filter) It's a long shot, but sometimes it's something simple like that.
  4. I've got a 1984 leone GLF sedan, and I want a station wagon. I thought I could get the roof, rear gate and rear seats out of a wrecked wagon and put them on my car. But, in my owners manual it shows small differences in the dimensions of the wagons and sedans. Like the wagon is 20cm longer, and has a slightly smaller wheelbase. Does anybody think the panels will just fit on, or are there more fundamental differences? Are the differences in size just a result of flashings or something? And just out of curiosity. What is the difference between the GL and the GLF models?
