  1. +1 for QC issues with them.

The last set of front axles I had on my Legacy were from them. I had not one, but two boots start leaking grease. I'm fairly sure it's because the straps on the boots weren't tight enough.

I've since replaced them with new (not rebuilt) axles from NAPA, which I'm not happy with either, as I've had a shuddering problem when I take off in 1st gear that I didn't have before installing them. But I'm just going to drive on them until they become a real problem, then I'm going to look elsewhere besides either supplier.

from what I've heard Napa is not good with Subaru stuff

This Brat runs and drives well. 5 speed transmission w/new clutch disc and pressure plate assembly. Extended drive shaft w/replaceable u-joints. Replaced front and rear seals on the engine, heater hoses and bypass hoses. Passed Clifornia smog about 500 miles ago. Will smog again if buyer is to register in Cali. 132K miles. Looks like near new brakes, excellent tires, new upholstery including new foam in the seats, carpet and padding on the floor. The dash has one large crack, now has a rug on it. The paint is a really nice orange color(paint code #547), no wrecks I can see. Has parking lot dents. Rust in the bed on the drivers wheel tub and under the battery tray, both areas are repairable. I have found no other rust on this vehicle anywhere else. Unmolested wiring harness. Stock radio with 200 watt sub behind the passenger seat, I use a FM broadcaster with my CD/mp3 player, works well. New batteryNo AC or power steering. No computer or O2 sensor in the system. Has the jump seats, headreasts, seat belts, ect for the bed. Glass, all lenses are good. Tailgate trim is in good condition.

    $sold

I posted under vendors because I bought this Brat for resale.

    Required disclaimer:

Everthing expressed here is my opinion, as is where is sale.

    how much?

  3. Ya that just confirms the steal metal death trap, O well, However I think I will take my Suby over some of the more modern plastic cars. Cause you know, Atleast my car will survive

In January I rearended an Outback with my ford escape. Did more than $5,000 damage to the Ford. Barely dented the rear hatch of the Outback. go subaru!

  4. Now I'm not so sure it was the wires. After I installed a new set of wires, there's still a spark jumping out of the side of the coil (toward the front of the car). I stuck a piece of plastic between the coil and the bracket on the front, and the car started running fine. Coils aren't supposed to produce sparks anywhere but where the wire plugs in, right? I think mine might be cracked on the side.

Will a '95 Legacy coil pack work on my '91 automatic Legacy? I have access to a use

    d one.

Path of least resistance. The spark goes from the coil through the wire, through the plug, jumps the gap, goes through the block, jumps the gap on the opposite plug, through the wire, back to the coil. Fires both plugs at once. Its a waste spark system. If both wires and both plugs are good, the coil has to be bad. I have very seldom seen that happen. Karen Boston
  5. i have a 88 turbo a/t full time 4wd wagon, gl-10 , my wife was driving it home , and, oil temp , charge , stop light , brake light, brake fluid, all came on , she said she drove through alittle water, oil, water , brake fluid is all good, temp good, i was messing around with the radio , would there be a short some where, ? or a bad alt? thanks for the help.

    Most likely bad alternator.

  6. my idle runs to high only sometimes other times it runs perfect it's an 1982 wagon and the only thing i can think of is the choke is sticking so how do i fix that?

    thanks

Make sure the choke is getting power. Most 82's had Carter carberators and if you are not getting power to the choke and its a Carter carberator check the fuses and the coolant temp sensor on the intake manifold. Or the carberator screws are loose and need to be tightened from the bottom side of the carberator and the carberator needs to be removed for those screws to be tightened. hope that helps you out buddy.
