  1. I have the original motor with only 82K. The Brat has been sitting for a few months and I wondered if that could have something to do with it. I have a friend who is going to come look at it. thanks guys
  2. Okay. I actually opened the hood and it sounds like its coming from the front of the engine. I'm thinking alternater, water pump, something like that.
  3. I drove my Brat to the chiropractor today and everything was fine. I started it up to go home and it was making a funny noise. I thought it was an exhaust rattle or something but I don't think so. Anybody around who can look at it for cheap? I'm a girl and I'm afraid to drive it anywhere to see what's wrong. Help!
  4. I don't know - I usally go online after I get off work and I've had a few beers and I get kind of confused sometimes. But I like all the Subaru stuff and I love my Brat.
  5. In January I rearended an Outback with my ford escape. Did more than $5,000 damage to the Ford. Barely dented the rear hatch of the Outback. go subaru!
  6. Hi - just wondered if you ever came by the chico elks lodge and looked at my brat
  7. I agree - the hub caps just don't get it. Otherwise it looks like a nice little car.
  8. You guys still thinking of starting an Alaska Subaru Club? I'm interested.
  9. Path of least resistance. The spark goes from the coil through the wire, through the plug, jumps the gap, goes through the block, jumps the gap on the opposite plug, through the wire, back to the coil. Fires both plugs at once. Its a waste spark system. If both wires and both plugs are good, the coil has to be bad. I have very seldom seen that happen. Karen Boston
  10. Make sure the choke is getting power. Most 82's had Carter carberators and if you are not getting power to the choke and its a Carter carberator check the fuses and the coolant temp sensor on the intake manifold. Or the carberator screws are loose and need to be tightened from the bottom side of the carberator and the carberator needs to be removed for those screws to be tightened. hope that helps you out buddy.
