  1. ya mine is a 5spd. Does all of the impreza suspension pieces bolt up to the forester? Are there any better stock sway bars, say from a wrx maybe, that would fit? I have to admit alot on the forester is diferent from the legy I used to run.
  2. cool cool... "Also, I'd like to say... I HATE THAT YOU EAST-COAST PUNKS GET ALL THESE AMAZING DEALS!!! " you would not believe how many running under a $1000 subies there are out here, it's like heaven. so legacy rear disks aye... how is that swap, strut braces I'm going to make, I also going to work on control arm braces and a skid plate. Has anyone played with the drive bias in the transmission. anythiing to gain there or just a big whole in the pocket book?
  3. Ya I have toyed with the idea of building it for offroad but I want it to handle good, so I'll probably only lift it an inch I put grabbers on it so it's about an inch taller just with those. Has anyone jiged up extend control arms and all that?
  4. not a problem, it was my first off road experience so I rember it well. it was probably your 2nd to last year at ferris. I was freinds of Creig and Seth and the his house crew. we went weelie and talked about Creigs bachelor party lol. Do you still run the dl? seems like Creig told me you swap out the motor for a 2.2
  5. ya pulled the heads tonight so I can start porting and maybe get them cut... looks like I might be looking for a set of cases though. we'll see when I get the engine out and start going through the bottom end. I know a guy with a two stroke duc... I think early sixties, he races it in some little enduro event up here. I would love to see your little bevels somtime. One of my prof's at school raced those for years.
  6. ya I'm not against the safari idea but... baja 1000 is the perfect race... it's very home build freindly... Perhaps even a good trial for anyone that wanted to do the safari or other simular race. Alot of people without alot of money do the baja, and they race everything from motorcycles to unmodified beetles.
  7. so I have goten myself a forester for 300 bones, it has a fine body good drive train and an extremely tired motor...But!! I work in a garage so parts are cheap and labor is merely time, I want play around with some rally x stuff and just have fun building the car.... Give me what you got, if it was yours what would you do with it.... bench build my beater with a heater
  8. Started as a shade tree wrenched on loyales and leagacy's got a little more serious and built two jeeps got into motorcycles built several cafe racers went to school for ducati, bmw,and triumph wrenched at a duc dealer for a while now work at an awesome mom and pop car dealer that is getting into custom bikes and eventualy general motorcycle repair All in all been wrenching since I was ten
  9. I haven't got to work on bevels yet, but my job at the dealer went down the tube. It's kind of sweet and sour... I love working on the new bikes but now I can do anything I want.... So my boss now is paying me to build an all custom bike with a 900 carbie. I'm shooting for 100 ponies with some head and cam work. The rest of the bike is going to try and marry drag bikes and cafe!!!! I really would love to find a 907 love that old stuff.... Have you ever worked on a superlight? Those are rocking!!! Man there are all kinds of things you can do with that Paso....My other bike project is a landspeed gl1100...It's amazing how much like a subie that motor is lol.... Rossi should do great things, I wonder if they are going to stay with the big bang motor or if they are going to go to a sequential timing order...
  10. cool I was already going to call them on a landspeed bike I'm building so that will be cool... kill two birds and all that... looks like I'm gonna have to swap a motor real soon... this one has 243k on it and it's smokin like mad... but I'd like to do a mild engine build before the swap...
  11. ya had a 92 legacy with three diferent tires...... ya not good. It's fine in the winter when there some slippage happening. mine made all sorts of noise...
  12. Anybody done any cam degreeing on the ej25d, any good numbers to start with....Any thoughts?
