im thinkin of a custom roll pan in the rear, and either a roll pan style piece of sheet metal in the front (similiar to how the VW mk1 rabbits look with no bumper) or a small simple smooth bumper from another car.

wow...nicest brat i think ive seen. Got a question for ya...what does the ea81 cars look like with no front bumper? ive seen some vw rabbits and datsuns with no front bumper and they look pretty good, mainly because the sheet metal behind the bumper isnt to bad.

If/when i swap the carbs to either a weber or a custom dual sidedraft setup... How do you route the PCV valve? Im really confused on it. Ive read several thread sbut am really confused.

this guy just had a tube in each flange and they were connected to each other. thats all the coolant does right? the manifold just serves to pass the coolant from one side to the other?

I posted this up on a motorcycle site im on...figured id post here and see what you guys would say. What I am wanting to do is build a pair of intake manifolds to run a pair of typical motorcycle carbs. The advice I need is what size and what kind of carb would you recommend? A guy who was running this engine in his VW beetle ran a pair of 40mm downdraft carbs Right now I am considering a pair of 36/38/40 Mikuni Roundslides, Factory Harley 40mmCV carbs, and a set of factory XS650 38mm CVs. Do you guys have any other recommendations?

one more.... how/why does coolant flow through the manifold? how many coolant inlets/outlets does the manifold have?

couple more questions for you guys. How do i know what carb I have from the factory without tearing into everything? What manifold do I need to run? EA81 hitachi, ea81 1bbl, or ea82? Has anyone ran a pair of motorcycle carbs on an ea81? Im a motorcycle mechanic/racer and am use to the stuff.

so the xt uses a bigger brake rotor? it looks like the hubs are the same when i did a part interchange. anyone know which model has the biggest caliper?

ok so im thinking that the rear disc conversion will be my first mod. I was looking at getting new rotors and calipers to do the swap. However when I look up the parts, there are no options for 2wd or 4wd. They show the same exact parts. Are they the same or different?

No rain here...ive been drag racing motorcycles since i was 16...i know what a dyno tune consists of lol. ill do one in the spring before the weber swap. ill do a second one after the weber swap (pry on a different day, but ill try to get the weather as close as possible using my weather station) and ill see how the a/r curve looks and possibly rejet.

factory installed as far as i can tell. but if i go with a 5 speed swap then i pry dont need it.

i was looking at pictures on the internet of ea81's and i think i noticed that the certain modelas had "smoother" all black bumpers then my chrome/black gl10 bumper...am I crazy or are there options out there for different bumpers?

if i could make my wagon as clean as this one (and it doesnt even have anything shaved) id be the happiest guy around. its a toyota so bare with me...but the execution is fantastic.

I have looked closer at my car and the body is slightly rougher then I though..not to far gone but it is gonna take just a little bit more work. That being said...i now feel comfortable doing modifications to this car.

just wondering if anyone has seen an 81/82 with shaved door handles, bumpers, maybe the trim removed, something euro inspired?

also...does ea82 4wd suspension work on an ea81 at all? also much easier to find.

i seem to be having a hard time finding ea82 trannys in the junkyards here in ohio....best to just look for one on the forums? or does the trannys from early 90s legacy/impreza fit? those are all over.
