  1. Frankly, your combustion chambers looked pretty good to me EXCEPT for that hot exhaust valve. As far as deposits, I have seen far worse in carb'd engines that were perfectly fine except for needing a head gasket due to age. Clean up the chambers and check the valves and their seats... especially the white or ashen exhaust valves.

both heads have an exhaust valve like that.

    I wonder why.

I dont have a deadblow hammer but ill try to borrow one. I have an idea ill try tomorow.

  2. sounds like its your first time pulling an auto engine. your supposed to be able to reach through an access hole at the bottom of the flexplate and unbolt it first. now that its off go ahead and replace the seal though.

just fill the tranny like normal and it will work out just keep it topped off.

what are you doing a rebuild?

  3. Just look at the rear tires. What would the tongue weight be for that trailer? The rear tires are not even squatting.

As far as the camp trailer, they only weigh about 500lbs. If it has electric brakes the Sube would only have issues when going up hill.

And...tow rigs don't get any better than a big block powered 'burban.

i dont know if its fake or not but id rather have your suburban than the diesel ones. that 6.2 was a total pos. I had a 84 cucv with one.
