  1. I will check out the radius bushings and see how they look thanks for the ideas!
  2. Update: I finally destroyed my tires and got new ones"poor alignment ruined my awsome tires:(", I had a full alignment done when I had them installed "the alignment wasn't bad at all", I pulled the motor and checked both motor mounts and the transmission mounts, I also got 2 new axles from the parts store "I've gone through so many these were the last 2 the store would give me and they will no longer guarantee them..." I bought good red grease spendy stuff lol, and pulled the axles apart and cleaned and re greased them. I've really only put 3-4k on them almost all "maybe 1-2 miles on gravel" are highway miles and they are starting to go. and my new tires on the back are showing signs of wearing more on the inside than the outside.I love this car more than any other vehicle I have ever owned, Hands down it is the funnest and most capable car/truck/4wheeler/montser truck/tractor I have ever owned lol, I dont want to get rid of it, this car is more reliable "other than axles" than most friends Ive had so i really dont want to get rid of it, So Where can I get "subaru axles" or EMPI axles, the next time I replace the axles I will also do all wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rod ends, and struts. I may even try and find a way to attach the tranny better. any other ideas.
  3. thank you, I have been at a stand still trying to find it in the chiltons and haynes manuals.
  4. I cant figure it out, does anyone know the part # for the o-ring that goes between the cam case and the heads on an ea 82? or what its called?
  5. the head is junk, now to pull the one off my motor and see if its okay and if not, Does anyone have a passenger side head for an ea 82 they wanna get rid of?
  6. so from what i can tell its leaking from the valves, and possibly from the small crack on the thinnest part of head between the valves, I dont know why but, I didn't think that was that unusual, but i could be wrong. I'm going to take it to the machine shop. I will probably pull the other head and make sure its okay.... Another question I had was : is there any reason I cant take the head off of another motor and bolt it up to this block? any info helps, I need this motor to last 30,000 miles and when i get back i will put in the 2.2!!!
  7. will do, I'm going to fill the exhaust port with water and see if it leaks out thank you
  8. no I drained the coolant when i pulled it in the shop, I didn't mess with the intake until i went to pull the head.
  9. bought a parts car its an 87 gl, pulled the motor, I noticed that there was antifreeze coming out of the exhaust port on the head, pulled the head, from what i can tell the head looks fine, it has the "ea 82 usual crack between the valves" but i dont think its significant enough to cause the antifreeze to drip out of the exhaust port as fast as it was, what do you guys think? I'm going to get the head resurfaced, do you think it could have just been a bad spot in the head gasket? or A crack that i cant see in the head some where , or is it the crack between the valves. its the passenger side head thanks
  10. They do great in the sand I have 205/75/r15 on my subie:
  11. yeah, i had to air down, the sand wasn't cooperating with subie, it was diggin.
  12. hope you guys enjoy!
  13. hey, I thought you guys might get a laugh or two outa this and maybe even a smile:), Why do i love my car??? b/c of this...
  14. thats was about what I was thinking, I can get the motor and reseal it myself, and supply you with a good wiring harness that goes with the motor, and I can also supply the adaptor plate and drilled flywheel, fuel pump, radiator, radiator fans, clutch kit, and whatever else I just don't have a place or tools to do the actual swap, I can even have the motor out of my car and rent a flatbed to bring it up to you. The whole point of me doing this is, I love subarus I started as a subaru specialty's shop hand at 16 and did that for 4 or 5 years on and off. I use this car for everything, deer, elk and duck hunting, I have a drift boat I pull with it, and I'd like to own a small travel trailer some day soon that I can pull it with. I'm not a hack it kinda guy and from what I've read you don't seem to be one either, I have the money to do this right now, and its very very important for me to have it done right. so let me know a where abouts of what it would cost to have you rebuild the wiring harness and install the motor and shoot high rather than low. Thank you sincerely for your help and your time with helping me figure this out.
