  1. Hatchy with the smashed rear side window?? If thats the one u were talking about then yes it's the same one. Or maybe your refering to when the motor swollowed water and it seized. Dave
  2. The number plate has actually already been relocated. If you take a look at my last photo with the table set up you can see it is more to the left now. The spare wheel holder is actually but out of one of these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/3-Bike-A-Frame-Towing-Rack-Quick-Realease-Brand-NEW_W0QQitemZ180181276923QQihZ008QQcategoryZ56189QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Obviously heavily modified. Best thing about it is there is no need to fold the wheel down to access or open the boot. The wheel is only ever folded down for table use and there is tons of room to access the boot either side of it. Dave
  3. I will put more details up on the wheel carrier tonight. I forgot to add some photos of my endless air set up too (air compressor and tank running from the EJ air con compressor) Dave
  4. It has been a long time since i have posted anything on here but i thought i would put an update on whats been going on and what i have added to the car in the past year or so. Car is an 1983 MY Hatch... with about a million mods done to it... i do actually have a list of every mod i have done if anyone is at all interested. Common in most parts of the world but VERY rare in Australia. Some may remember not long ago i had a problem getting a new rear window and some of you fine people were able to help me... thanks agiain for that. Main things i have done lately is added.... Fully functional Snorkel and air box: Tow bar/Spare wheel holder/Camping table: And more recently a SC14 Super Charger from a Toyota on my ej22: (Im not yet 100% happy with this... im getting a smaller pulley so i can get more boost and i need to do some more pipe work. Currently it is only running 3.5 PSI boost) It runs great and shortly it will be completed after i and an intercooler to it and raise the boost to hopefully 6-7PSI. Dave
  5. Window arrived safe and sound today... and it took much less time to get here than i thought. BIG thanks again to bratsrus1 (Jerry) and cobcob (Dave). Jerry had gone through some extra lengths to help the window keep safe on it's journey with some extream packaging. Thanks again guys. Dave
  6. Thanks to Everyone that offered help in getting me a replacement window. I have one on it's way now. BIG thanks to bratsrus1 (Jerry) for giving me a window and spending a lot of time looking at postage options. And also a big thanks to cobcob (Dave) for assisting in getting the money to Jerry. Thanks again guys... hopefully the window arrives in one peace. I will let you guys know when it arrives. Dave
  7. I did look for them but no sign... if i had of got a hold of them i think it would have been a good thing if i didn't have a bat. LOL Dave
  8. VERY generous offer cobcob.... i may take you up on that but i don't want to put anyone out of there way. I will let you know. I don't know much about postage but isn't there a way that the item gets posted for free but the receiver on the other end has to pay the postage fee in order to receive the item... i could be wrong... maybe thats just for interstate postage. Dave
  9. Thanks for all the support guys. Im seriously feeling a lot better about the whole thing having support from people on the other side of the country that can get the parts i need and are willing to help. I guess the main question now is the cost for postage... Thanks everyone soo much that has offered to help and if them people are willing, could you please make some enquiries about the postage for me. And in answer to some of the posts... no pick a part in Australia will have any of these... Hatches are that rare here that i only know of 2 in existance. To make postage costs easier to work out... my location is Perth in Western Australia and my post code is 6018. Thank you guys very much. Dave
  10. Thanks for the replys guys. Has anyone posted anything to Australia before??? Or have any idea how much something like this would cost to post over? Also do you think a peice of glass would make it through the post un-damaged... it's looking like taking one of you fine people up on an offer to help me might be my only option. Dave
  11. Cruising down the highway today... and BANG.... Seams like someone hiding in the bushes with a rock wasn't a Subaru fan. Now the question is... How does one find a replacement window for an imported 24 year old Hatch in Australia. Anyone here have any ideas?? Dave
  12. If i wanted to be able to electronically lift the idle of an EJ22 motor to around 1000rpm by a flick of a switch how would i go about this?? Ideas... suggections.. Thanks Dave
  13. It took me over 4 months but i have this problem solved now... the pics do not show where i have moved the number plate to but i have relocated it to half on and half below the drivers side rear bumper. It does fold down but i don't have to fold it down to access the boot... when it folds down it sits level so i can use it to sit a table top on when camping. Dave
  14. Yeah u are thinking along the lines that i am... only because i have a custom made tow bar under my bumper i was thinking about using that to bolt the swing arm to. Dave
  15. What have people done to store there, much larger than standard, spare wheels in, or on, there ea81 hatchbacks?? I have only recently purchased a spare wheel for my hatch and it's a 27inch offroad tyre so having it in the car uses up an aweful lot of space. Im sure i have seen some people run with a spare wheel carrier on the hatches.... anyone got pics of these or any other options?? As much info and pics relating to this that i can find would be great. Thanks guys. Dave
  16. Im still looking for an easy answer to my "Tow bar for my Hatch" saga. And i was wondering if the BRAT tow bars are the same as the Wagon ones.... I know for a fact i can't seam to be able to fit the Wagon tow bar to the Hatch without it hitting everything. Maybe the Brat tow bars may be a closer fit? Any one have any pics of a Brat tow bar removed from the vehicle... or better yet... some pics of a Tow bar on a Hatch?? Thanks Dave
  17. Thanks mate... i really should have added in them videos somewhere that i made them... i have heard others claim to know the person that made em... and that person isn't me. I have the production files and the raw footage to prove it. Dave
  18. Most have seen these videos i made from the boys and I over here in Western Australia. http://members.iinet.net.au/~carladb/ Enjoy. Dave
  19. Already tryed there.... thanks for the suggestion though. Dave
  20. Im looking for the ecu pinout for a 2000 ej25 motor. So far i have come up empty handed after hours of searching. My biggest problem is trying to find one that has the same plug configuration. Mine has 3 plugs... and each plug have 2 rows of wires only. Anyone got any diagrams that look close to this?? I forgot to mention it is a non-turbo. Dave
  21. I have just put up a list of all the modifications i have added to the hatch on the AUsubaru web site. Here is the link. http://www.ausubaru.com/main/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1658 Dave
  22. The guy has desided not to take the matter any further in reference to the other hatch... he just wants to put the whole thing behind him. Sorry that the links don't work anymore... I didn't realise people still read this post. I have re-aranged some of my photos making the links change... Yes mine is the blue hatch. And here is the link directly to my current collection of photos of it. http://community.webshots.com/album/374303075MQADjb Dave
  23. Anyone fitted a tow hitch into the back of an MY hatch?? I can't seamed to get a wagon one to fit... anyone got some pics of one?? Dave
  24. I have the smaller type fuel tank in my 83 Hatch 4wd. I belive it's 45L i think. Did the hatch ever come up with a larger tank like the later model MY wagons did? Or are they all the smaller type? Has anyone done any sort of fuel tank upgrade or increased the size in any way?? Thanks in Advance Dave
  25. I got some good news and some bad news. Bad news is i seized my ej22 engine in the hatch on the weekend doing something stupid in swamp water. The good news is i have made a tribute video for the hatch. Link: http://members.iinet.net.au/~carladb/ On another positive note... i have already located a replacement engine and it will be back on the road before u know it. Enjoy Dave
