are the engines from the same year of car? i did an engine swap once and the engine i put in had a newer style of cam wheel on it with sensor teeth all around it instead of the older style with only a few this requires swapping of the wheel itself simple fix. IIRC it will be the drivers side pully that has the sensor.

but that was just an issue from the type of HG they used right? not the engine it self?

i think that is a kouki edition bumper it was a special edition kinda thing i saw a few on ebay when looking for custom subaru bumpers good luck.

You can use ea82 knuckles and brakes on an ea81 (gen2) you can even use the struts if you swap the top hats it improved braking a ton having the bigger vented rotors on the front and the ea82 IIRC had a stiffer spring on the strut. I helped a friend of mine do it on his gen 2 hatch should be the same on the gen2 brat. PS you will need to use the later style wheels as the newer brakes have larger calipers and they hit the old style wagon wheel not sure on the normal steelies though.

Not completely true the EJ2.5 is reliable as long as you keep the timing belt up to par.

i agree with GD 100 percent you sound like you need to just grab life by the horns do what needs to be done to get were you want to be. if you let people tell you you can't do something long enough you will start to believe it, anything is possible with the will do do so.
