  1. Second that.  Should be getting 30+ with manual trans.

Fuel gauges read low on ea82s.   If you run the tank until you're out of gas - then put in 2-gal from your trusty extra gas can, when you get to the nearest gas station, you will take 13.9 gal.   Ask me how I know.

I, also,in the past, would fill the tank with about 11 gal when it read Empty... so I had to test it.

  2. You know I would be there if I could.     There have to be some Soobie Storm Chasers on this forum ...  work on your motor ... chase some storms.

I think you might be the only Kansas member ... at least, that I have seen.

  3. I was on their website.   Austrailia manuf.   Was looking for some pricing, but looks like they only sell thru reps.   Anyone ever used a SuperPro rep on the west coast?

Also, they say the Leone was years 79 to 94    - so that includes the ea81 and ea82 models.      Does the EA81 and EA82 have the same rad arm/ control arm bushing size?

  4. Inspection plate is easy to get to from underneath.  2 bolts and it's off.   I usually leave mine off.

    Heads get hot immediately.

Make sure you get a temp gauge working.   If you replace the sending unit and it still does not work, get an aftermarket temp gauge.   You don't want to overheat your motor ... EVER.

  5. Clutch disc specs for EA81 4WD 1983 +

    21T x 7/8” and 225mm OD ... your 84 4WD wagon will have this clutch.

The 15003 seems to be an Exedy part #. You should check the specs of a 15003 to see if they match what I said in sentence above.

    My records show that my 82 FrontWD EA81 has a 5-speed manual. It takes a 21T x 7/8” x 200mm clutch. Sachs KF59901 or Exedy 15001.

So do not buy the 15001, it is for FrontWD 5-speeds and for pre-1983 4WD.

  6. Run the blue/red wire to the fan (this wire should have 12v with ignition on). The yellow wire from the fan will go to the thermoswitch. The thermoswitch will complete the ground when the temp gets around 180. If your thermoswitch has 2 black wires, connect the yellow (from fan) to one of the black wires. Take the other black wire and connect to ground.
