  1. Haha...thats great!. I sure miss our little GL. Now I wish I had been able to find one for sale, but oh well. I like my Audi Quattro, but I will always be a Subaru person.
  2. Ya, it will be in the pass. compartment. And it doesnt have to be working on Accessory...just whenever the car is "on" I figure I can get it working...I just wanted to find out if there was an "extra" wire lying around or if tapping into the ignition is the easiest/simplest way. Thanks!
  3. Your just saying use the actual ignition switch (where you plug the key in)?
  4. Trying to help a friend out with his '78 DL wagon, we have ran into a wiring snag. We need a switched ignition wire and have no idea where to start looking. I know these old cars are pretty simple, but there are still a ton of wires and we dont have a wiring diagram. If someone could tell us the color and location of a switched ignition wire that could hold an extra ~500mA to 1A it would be GREATLY appreciated. If there arent any wires that can hold the extra amperage, then ANY switched ignition wire would do, and we can add a relay. Thanks!!!
  5. Well, just searching around I found a 86GL wagon what looks to be in really good condition, but I was wondering what to look out for on this car? Im assuming its an EA82, so there is the timing belt issue, but what else is there that could go wrong? Its a 4wd manual (so I assume its a 5spd D/R).
  6. Well, it sounds like a plan then....my perfect setup is an EA81 Wagon with the D/R 4WD, so thats what im on the prowl for. A EA81 hatch/sedan with 4wd would be ok too, but I just wanted to make sure I knew what I was looking for before I start going out to buy something. Thanks guys!
  7. So practically the EA71 and EA81 are the same engine just one has a larger displacement? Then the EA82 probably creates a little more HP, but has a timing belt to worry about? I am pretty much looking for a "bulletproof" car since i dont want to worry about the engine or trans just going out a week after I get it.
  8. Just wondering what the differences are between the three, and what the biggest causes of problems are between them. Im looking for an older subie, and want to get the most reliable one with as few major problems as possible.
  9. Hmmmm. I too was wondering how you would go about registering an abandoned car. Guess it would be more than its worth. :-\
