  1. You should come over here I know of a bunch of 4x4 wags for sale cheap here. (even a running one for 500) Adam
  2. Found at another Junk Yard. Bunch of Gen 1 brats, 1 GL10 4 dr (motor still there rolled) a bunch of Gen 1 wagons (most 4x4) one rinning and drivable for 500 (78 wagon 4x4 with a cool custom front bumper) stupid camera fritzing out but will get pics.
  3. I think it was an 88 wagon (kinda diferent with the H4 headlight stuff) the guy said I can have it if I want it (cannot title it here anyhow) and I found out it is not wrecked it is a complete 5 sp car with a nice interior. I might just have to do a vin switcheroo here anyhow I should find out more this week.
  4. You might want to invest into devlar head studs (the kinds used in Porsche race engines with lots of comp. or boost) and maybe see if there is any one who makes a metal head gasket. (most of my experiances are from building Porsche and vw engines)
  5. Ok found localy (southern NM) 1991 Loyal wagon (local dealer) 161k 4X4 $1500 (probably cheaper like 1000) also an 81 4x4 wagon 121k missing drivers side front axle, 1987 4x4 wagon 121k (or so) no hatch window. I can get pics of them (there are 3 others)
  6. I am going to the junk yard on saturday/sunday to do a quick inventory. Found an 87 4x4 clean no rust ok interior motor? don't know. plus a number of others going to do a good inventory of all of the junkyards here and post it on the pages.
  7. Vegg-o-matic? you have a bio diesel car? My wife drives a 1983 Mercedes 300d Turbo. No rain here right now but I agree rain is welcome. I get up there ocasionaly. Adam
  8. hello to a fellow nuevo mexican........ How is Soccoro? I am going to build a lifted subie too. (and my wife is even going to let me)... Anyhow goot to see another one here in this state that is a subie enthusiast. Adam
  9. Thanks for the link. As for the webbers I kind of understand the abreviiations. A DGEV is a Downdraft, G?, Electric choke, V?
  10. I am in good with all of the yards here in New Mexico. Mostly I buy VW stuff but I have always had a soft spot fot the subies..... I am going to go junk yard diving next week (after my wife gets off of leave) and see what I see. The yards here can rape ya but here cash is king. Wave bills around them and they start dropping the price. (once bought a running 1980 rabbit for $50 it still runs today) For the most part the Subaru here is kind of a forgotten car due to the fact that almost every one here is in the military and wants the flashy cars (I have fallen victum to that too but always had a "beater" to play with) So I am going to look in the yards for subies and such (I know where there are 4 or 5 sets of "PUG" wheels for the taking) I will post my finds soon.... Adam
  11. Do you have any pics of the car? Is it a 4x4, stick or auto? I have sourced another turbo motor here already out of a grey market turbo (we have German airforce people stationed here) anyhow let me know. I am always up for a road trip. Adam
  12. That would be cool to have a little gtg here. I am mostly a vw guy but this subaru I picked up is kinda special and is making me into a ru guy. If only they made a 2 dr station wagon I think the longer doors would make it easier to get in and out. At 6'5" and 350lb I might be the biggest old subaru driver here. As for cam where and what kind. Do 1800 heads fit a 1600 block (are the valves bigger) I installed a 2 1/4" exhaust with a flowmaster muffler today (got a little peppier) With the Weber carbs are there any more that fit I/E the 32/34 DGAS or DGAV
  13. Thanks for the words of wisdom. I think I am going to keep it for the most part stock. It only has 68k on the clock and is clean through and through. I might see if I can resurect a 4x4 out of one of the junk yards here. (there are about 200 cars in the junk yards here that are clean) the only thing here that don't survive are the plastics. Adam in NuevoMexico Alamoghetto
  14. There is a pic in my other thread...... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20446 Adam
  15. ok here is the car (after 2 hours of hollering at the puter)
  16. Ok kinda new to the subaru world but I was wondering if there are any "hop up" parts that can be found on other cars that will interchange with mine. EA71 2wd with a manual tranny. I know with volkswagens you can swap a great deal of parts between years and get some impresive gains. My car runs great but it is a little gutless. Of course I know 68 HP(at best) can feel a little anemic. Any help is apreciated Adam
  17. Kinda new to the whole ru thing. Just picked up a cherry 1980 wagon (ea71) with 68k miles for the bargan price of $850 and wanted to say howdy. I will post pics of the beauty soon.
