  1. Waiting for a 6 inch lift kit, and want to cover all possible bases. 1997 legacy wagon L Will I need to extend the gas tank filler tube? Fuel lines? Looks like a lot of slack on the brake lines. Will I need to extend them? struts- plan on using 1999 outback struts with the stock springs.
  2. spent a while looking at Oriely's website( easy to go between years and models) , entering in each year then each type. legacyL ,brighton ,outback and outback limited ( 1999). Part numbers were the same for 97,98 but 99 the outback were different. Funny thing, even the 97 legacy and the 99 legacy had the same part numbers
  3. Dang LL just sent out the check. Hopefully I can be #5

  5. Thanks Gloyale You hit the nail on the head. Its 1999 that is different between the two. 1997- no difference
  6. When I look for struts on the web at internet sites (like patrs geek) in the year 1997 I only get three choices. Legacy, Impreza and SVX. They dont show a difference or, dont have an "outback" choice . Do I have to go to a 1999 year model?
  7. I pulled the trigger on a 6 inch SJR 6 inch lift last night . I have some questions about struts and spings though I have a 1997 legacy L wagon. It sit LOW as it is. I want to run 205/75 r 15 or 205/75/r16 on it with no fender rub. ( I may have to go with 215 instead ) Should I keep the stock sturts and springs ...or should I install outbach struts? And if I go with outback struts do I need outback spings also? A 97 outback- is it a legacy or impreza ? or do I go with 1999 ? will outback struts bolt right up or do I need to drill new holes/ modify anything? Thanks. Im a bit confused right now
  8. I have a 97 legacy L wagon with 14 inch 5 lug wheels. looking to replace them with 15 or 16 inch wheels. I measure 96mm centerto center but its listed on the internet at 5 x 100mm. Anybody know if 5x100mm will fit?

  10. Thanks Gloyale Now that I have the car at my house I can see the one inch of round stock between the two u-joints. When you say cut and sleeve- tell me about the "sleeve". Do you weld it after the install at the exact lenght ? Can you take a pic and post it if you have this set up? Also, I cant decide between a 4 inch or 6 inch lift. I do know they are both body lifts with 1 inch of suspension lift. I want to run 16 wheels and 205/75/16 TA all terrains Thanks
  11. Thanks I havent looked at what I have yet. Anybody extnd/lift a 97 legacy L wagon around here? Also- AA are they in bizanymore ? and....what did the AA stand for? Any other sites besides SJR making subie lifts?
  12. What subie is that on Idasho?
  13. Hi all, new member wanting to lift a 97 Legacy wagon and the steering shaft extension has me worried. In my model, my mechanic is telling me it may be knuckle to knuckle at the rack and pinon so no room to cut or add. He is looking more closely at it today as this whole Idea came about after I saw the SJR website. So, has anyone lifted a 97 Legacy wagon? Im hoping the steering shaft extension doesnt kill my project before it gets off the ground Thanks
