    Kits

ok.. here we go.. I am really looking into putting a lift kit on my Loyale. I think I have done enough investigating to say that I will probably go with a BYB or SRJ kit. does anyone know why I cant seem to order them.. thier web sites both seem a little.... SKETCHY.. and I cant seem to get them to email me back with any info... I really want to try and be cool, like you guys, and keep up with you in the woods.... but my "Special Edition" Loyale (being only special to me) is only stock. does any one know how to handle this.. Thanks
  2. Hey thanks for the reply. I Bought new heads from the dealer.. before I knew about the small cracks between the intake and exhaust valves that happens all the time. I did have them all torqued totally down... the only thing I can think of is that the block is not flat or the car got hot and I didnt notice it.. ohh well... thanks for the website.. Chris
  3. OK, so Here is the story.. I have done alot of work on my EA82. but now.. I have more issues. I have a blown head gasket... I just replaced the heads not that long ago (with new gaskets) but I used the old bolts... Probable loosened up now.. but needless to say.. It burns and leaks antifreeze.. My Tranny is leaking gearlube. Looks like it is coming from the half shaft seal but not sure if that is a replaceable seal. and The CV boot is split and now it started clunking.. I need a new axle. SO, anyone got any ideas for a good parts distributer or the best way to fix this stuff???? with all this...I have been saving my cash for a lift kit from BYB but .. I guess I should keep the car running before I spend $500 on a lift... so yea... any ideas would be cool.. Thanks:headbang:
  4. Yo Yo Yo.. Hey, I have to say, this Subaru site is awesome.. one day I want to be as cool as alot of you and have lifted and off road Loyale's and Brats...But I guess I cant be cool yet, because I suck... OHH WELL... OK.. The Clutch.. My clutch pedal just started going stupid and it grabs when the pedal is about all the way released. All I have to do is touch the pedal to shift gears.. I know a little about clutch systems and all the symptoms are telling me that the clutch is going bad.. is there an adjustment that is could have "went out" ??? or, can you replace the clutch without pulling the engine?? Thanks ahead for the helps.. Chris
  5. Hey thank for the info.. but I think that it's where I am loosing the coolant.. I think its leaking out of the water jacket into the cylinder. OHH well.. the Legacy Heads have been tested and are SAT! they fit a 90-96 Legacy with a 2.2L.. and that's all I know.. they ahve the cam in them and all. They look dirty but with a little cleaning they will be good. I could have a picture of them if you are interested tomorrow but I am in a little bit of a hurry today.. I have no use for them so I will sell them for like 150.00 plus shipping if you want them.. . I know they cost around $30 bucks to ship if that gives you any figure... and basically i will not be making any money off of them either... that is what I spent on them.. thanks Christopher G
  6. Hello everyone... I am new the site and I think it's awesome. I have been a mechanic for just about ever (and I am 24, so I guess that is not a long time) but I have been doing this stuff for a long time. Here is my issue.... I have a 91 Loyale and I am having head troubles... It started off by ticking a little and I decided to rip the heads off and rebuild them.. while getting into it I decided to replace the water pump and oil pump and all associated gaskets and belts on the car. I took the heads to get them cleaned and I discovered a crack in BOTH heads between the intake valves. What should I do... I can get them welded and It would cost about $250 per head (that is the cheapest I have found) and NO one on earth has heads for a EA82 that are not cracked. I even found a junk yard in Cleveland that sent me heads but to my suprise... they are for a Legacy 2.2L. I guess they cant hear... what should I do.. get them welded or keep trying to get used heads??? The lower half of the motor only has 50,000 miles on it. if anyone is loooking for CHEAP 2.2L heads for a 90-96 Legacy.. let me know.. they have been tested and all.... Thanks Christopher G Cerveny
