  1. There are 3 more under the dash in the front Maybe 4. Been a while since I had mine out. One on each end of the dash. Just look underneath on the kick panel sides and there is 1 on each side. There is 1 right next to the heater box on the drivers side. There may be one on the passenger side of the heater box but I don't think there is. After that just unplug your instrument cluster need to take off the bezel around the heater controls and unplug some other wires and undo your duct work and that is pretty much it. Pretty easy to do. Might want to drop your steering column, It is only held in by 1 bolt. You may be able to avoid that. Hope that helps.

  2. You should be able to ship the Y-pipe easily through UPS. I had one shipped to me for only $17.00. All you need to do is wrap up the ends with some cardboard and tape. They will ship it just like that

You mean the Y-pipe up front , right? I've got one with the pipe-to-head flanges turned 90 deg. if you're interested. Would be a bear to ship but could be done for probably under $40. I'd like to get $150 for the pipe since its getting super hard to find and still has plenty of life left in it.

With the flanges turned you get to use the holes that were never used previously so that's a plus. But the inner studs are dang close to the engine mounts and need to be carefully inserted ,possibly with the engine slightly lifted. Or maybe need to keep the mounts loose untill the Y-pipe is on. The stud itself will clear , but the nut hits the mount with the engine seated inplace. I was just about to go thru all that when I decided to stick with my original pipe and just Helicoil the old holes. This pipe also has the "stove pipe" on the passenger side which your carb warmer tubing goes onto.

"ctsuba" might have a 1600 Y-pipe to offer as well. He's also in CT :)

  3. Well I have the quad light setup so mine might be a little different than yours. I just cleaned all the terminals on the fuse box with a wire brush. I pulled 1 fuse at a time and cleaned them. Worked for me. As for the rear shocks, I have not found any yet. I used to know a place that carried KYB shocks but I bought their last pair last december and they went into the 76 wagon that I had.

  4. Thanks, The interior is bad. Could use replacing every piece of it. That's due to it's whole life spent in the mojave desert till I got it. Kept it from getting rusty though:lol:. Fixed the lights today too. Only had low beam headlights. Ended up only needing to clean the contacts on the fuse box to get all the lights working again. I can't wait to get my parts to fix the front end and find new front struts and rear shocks.

This was from like 6 months ago. It now has a engine in it and it has enkeis on it. The interior is torn apart. The dash is sitting in the passengers seat. I need a new dash. Something that does not have holes cut in it would be nice. But it runs. Runs pretty good actually. Just rebuilt the carb on Monday. Needed to help that fresh rebuilt EA-71 to go down the road better.

  6. I have to replace my front axles on my 78 Brat. While I am doing that I would think it would be a good time to replace the wheel bearings. I would like to replace them with original subaru parts. Anybody have the part numbers for them and the dust covers for the bearings. Also While I am in there any suggestions on anything else I should replace. If so I would like to stay with original parts so part numbers would be useful. I imagine at least ball joints and tie rod ends. Anything else? Thanks,

    Richard
