  1. Absolutely awesome day!.... Like picking up a five speed 93 Impreza wagon with 150k for 100.00! Car runs great...except "bad tranny" Quote from owner...turns out just to be a bad axle on passenger front! Good day in Indiana! Josh!
  2. I went to pick up my Implaza and it is a 1.8l! It also is a five speed:banana: wagon! The owner wasn't sure exactly what was wrong....That Fox told me to watch the axle as he popped the clutch....the axle was bad??....the axle WAS bad!! Did I mention I paid a hundred dollars for a mint 150K five speed wagon???? I ordered my axle (79.99) and it will be here Tuesday! Me so happy....Dook Nougats for Everybody! Josh!
  3. That was my reply! But I will give that one to you because I have only seen that happen once.... Josh
  4. Sounds like you go the distributor cap wet...take it off and look for signs of moisture. Wipe out with dry rag and then shoot it up with some WD-40...should be good to go! Also check your dook-nougat! Josh!
  5. Make sure you are around this weekend, I want to go pick up that EJ1.8... I am not having Zanny Dook help me! How long is the Trashwagon 6 going to be in the shop? Josh
  6. Here in Soobville, the police have given up on giving us tickets due to the great number of Soobs we drive.....it's like every day we are driving a different Soob! They tried giving us a hard time at first, but they bore easy....or they are affraid that we will assasinate their yard! Josh
  7. Mr. Fox, I am sorry. This Impreza is mine. Go get your XT! Josh
  8. Then radiator from the EJ1.8 Impreza will work in my EJ 2.2 Legacy right? Come on and say yes! Josh!
  9. I posted this on the New Gen side but not much help over there. If this Impreza is a 1.8, will the engine and components swap over to an EA82 style of vehicle? I hope it is a manual! (I have not seen the car...picking it up from an owner who thinks it starts with a "P":drunk: ) All for 100 beans! Josh!
  10. I have not seen the car...so I am in the dark....I will try and and go pick it up manana! If it is a 1.8, will the engine interchange with a EA82 wagon....I can get my hands on an auto FWD EA82. I wonder what else? I probably need to shout out on the Old School Forum. I can't wait to get this...I need parts! Josh
  11. A friend of mine was driving in the ???? area and spotted an Subaru that was for sale. The dude said that the car was solid except for the "drivetrain". I didn't know what that was specifically so I asked if the motor ran and he said "yeah". He is selling it for 100.00!!! That is all I could get out of him...he didn't even know what kind of a car it was...all he knew was that it started with a "P". I found out later it is a 93 Impreza!! These are all 2.2's correct? The radiator will swap with my Old School Legacy right? (Lost radiator to Legacy on a Miles Fox Off-Road Adventure) Josh
  12. Right on Longhorn! Us Hoosiers have un-molested bumpers!!!!!!! I worked at a dealership (Shh...chrysler) and my OHIO customers were very angry when we drilled through their bumpers...sorry....it is probably to late isn't it Andy? Josh!
  13. Boys, stay the heck out of the mayor's yard... he is going to be bringing the heat down on us!....Soobville (Butler) residents can only take so many Subaru rutts in their yards! Go tear up the city's yard next to the carbola or the soccer field south of town, not the mayor's yard! Be saving your flow for the XT! I called the owner of that Subaru that starts with a "P"...I talked with the wife, she didn't know which model it was either. (Duh!) Josh!
  14. ..you remind people where your Japanese car is made when they ask you why you bought a foreign car....I am sure it is not the only reason, but still, it is a good one! All SE's come with a spoiler right? Josh!
  15. Cookie, you are exactly right. I read in a Scientific American study that even the average Chevy, Ford or BMW only has 45% of its parts manufactured in the car's country of origin. But the reality is that WHERE something is made does not determine the quality, but rather the manufacturing practices and adherence to quality control procedures at the factories. Sounds like SOA may have some issues..... Yes, absolutely right...adherence to quality control procedures at the factories! Regardless where the parts / components come from, they have to be assembled....Where they get assembled matters!! I would be willing to bet that the same product produced in both Japan and America would have a more quality issues in America hands down. I lived there for a short while, but it was long enough to learn that a majority of the Japanese (obviously not all) have an amazing work ethic. They are structured and very serious...which didn't bode to well with my American sense of humor. Sorry Andy, didn't mean to tread your thread! Josh!
  16. I didn't think there was anybody out there that cruises at 100mph. I fly at 100 all the time between Fort Wayne and Auburn. Really fun and a saves a lot of time...it is under ten minutes at that speed. I do not think that the 2.5 can handle the punishment a 2.2 can. However, it will handle "cruising speeds" of 100 mph for an extended duration of time. Make sure the car is broke in.....I think THIS is what happened to my 03 Legacy..(A/C failure)..driving to hard on the motor before break in...I was at 4400, but my salesperson told me to wait until 5000 to let it loose, Oops, I couldn't wait......I love the speed. Josh
  17. Yes! I have mentioned this before but recieved no comment. American Subarus are not the same as Japanese. I've owned both, and there is a difference. Having traveled to Japan, I can tell you that the work force/ethic is totally different. I really don't understand why the quality issues would be different within the same company...I am not saying it is, but all signs point to the factory. My 02 Imprerza was flawless...My 03 Legacy has not been (A/C failure / fit and trim blemishes) , but my Legacy has been above average for the new GM / Chrysler cars I have owned...go figure! Good point Benebob! Josh!
  18. Kudos on getting your woman to agree to a manual...I don't know if she already knew how to drive one or you are a hypnotist, but job well done. I have an 03 Legacy L-SE, that dog gone auto is such a... it is the worst at 30 mph range, it doesn't know where you need it most...and if you do need it, it takes about three seconds to get to the gear, and then power up...I dream about my Legacy being a mnl.... ...Love the car, doesn't handle as well as my 02 Impreza, better ride though...no problems except A/C failure at 4400 on the odo. They told me it was my reciever/dryer that went out (huh?). It took them two weeks to fix. Hats off to you Andy! Josh
  19. How do you modify your hood scoop (for outside air, not under hood air) to withstand intaking the elements? I have seen several "home" hood scoop mods and often wondered how they prevented this. Josh
  20. Hey Meeky, How did she total your Safari? 1) Accidently parked it in a flood plain before a storm 2) It "stalled" on the railroad tracks 3) A moose ran into it Just curious, Josh:D
