Problems to be aware of in a 95 legacy
Novakaine replied to Novakaine's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXFrom what i have read, redline is more for racers. So the oil does not do as good of a job at lower temperatures. It is designed for high speed hence "redline" driving. So i would not imagine it is good for everyday use, just when you want to race...i guess. Also between 5W-50 and 0W-40, which one is better for which season. I am in san francisco where it is fairly cool all year around. I figure i could run winter oil, all the time...maybe?

Problems to be aware of in a 95 legacy
Novakaine replied to Novakaine's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWow, thanks for the advice. I just had the front axle replaced. I think I will do the timing belt and all the other good stuff, over thanksgiving break. I was thinking of starting to run synthetic oil. Would you recommend this? what about that sythetic high mileage oil? And which one, 10w-30???

Problems to be aware of in a 95 legacy
So, I just bought the 95 legacy wagon with a 120,000 miles. I want this to be my baby, and i want it to last for many moe years and many more miles. So I was hoping you guys could tell me what problems i might have? is this a good car? Also, my timing belt was changed at 61,000 miles, how more miles could I get out of my belt? Also any special car care tips I should follow? And lastly, do they have a climate control panel that lights up for my car. It is a little annoying at night, when I can't see any of the bottons.

Feeling helpless
Novakaine replied to suprmanlives's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWhat about using sythetic oils. That is supposed to give you more time between oil changes, right? I realize that won't stop leaks, but will it slow the rate at which your engine burns oil? Would you guys recommend synthetic oil? I have had to add about a quart of oil between each oil change. I feel like that is a bit much. My mechanic says there is no evidence of a leak. I wonder, is that normal?

Re-carpeting...need carpet
Okay, so i just bought a 95 legacy brighton wagon. The carpet is all messed up, leaky bottle of bleach i presume. I wanted to buy a precut pre-molded carpet, but I can't find any for my car. The dealer wants $350, thats too much. So i don't mind doing it myself, but I am having trouble finding carpet by the foot or yard. I found expensive stuff for $58 a sq yard. Thats too much money. I also found this stinger carpet, at cardomain. Will the stinger carpet mold well, will it work, is it crap? Any other carpets you guys know of, or places i can get it? Stinger carpet: http://www.cardomain.com/shoplist~b~Stinger~t~Carpet I was thinking of the charcoal Avish

New Member saying hello.
I just wanted to say hello. I have been reading a little on this forum for a little while, and I finally got the car of my dreams...a Subaru, a 95 legacy wagon, with 120 K on it. So I decided it was time to join and say hello. Avish
