Wish I hadn't found this thread. That is what my Brat was supposed to look like. I bought mine off Craigslist about two winters ago for $50. After renting a tow dolly and gas, I was all in for $120. I knew it was really rusty but didn't know how bad until I went to pick it up. 1/3rd of the bed was gone including most of the wheel wells. I decided to part it out and after two years have made over a grand!

I have two pairs of 13 inch rims w/tires. One pair are "steelies" and the other are the wagon wheel style. They are off an '82 Brat. Pm me your email and I can send you pics if you are interested. Vince

I've got door glass for sale...

A fellow USMB member was at my house today picking parts up. He wanted to grab the A/C compressor and bracket off my Brat but wasn't sure if it would work on his. He did the EJ22(?) swap. Does anyone know if the bracket is compatible? Thanks in advance for the help.

My '82 Brat has a leather(?) pouch that is velcroed to the back wall below the window. What is if for?

Guys, you're cluttering up my thread. If you don't have advice on my question then PM each other.

Does anybody have advice or tips on removing the sliding rear window of a Brat? Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Dashboard is out. It was actually pretty straight forward. Just kept lightly tugging on it and searching for what was holding it up. Did not cut any wires or cables.

markjw-Good advice but I won't be the one dealing with installing. Selling the dash. It's a really tight fight between the windshield and the defroster vents. This ought to be interesting... Thanks guys.

Worked on getting the dashboard out today. I unbolted each end and from the steering column. It is loose. What/where else do I have to disconnect as far as bolts?

I did notice the clip after looking at it today. Will give it another try. Thanks for the responses.

I got a buyer for a bunch of my interior stuff and need to get the window cranks off. Do you just pry them off? I don't see any screws or clips.

Hey Guys, while trying to part out my Brat and scanning the wanted section I've seen references to EA81 and EA82. What do these refer to and what other abbreviatons or acronyms can you explain to me.

Hello USMB members. I found an '82 Brat on Craigslist for, get this, $50. It was listed as a parts car because there was "some rust in the rear wheel wells". When I went to pick it up I discovered there was about a quarter of the back bed completely gone from rust. There was barely anything left of the driver side frame rail too. I thought I had a fun project to work on but now I've decided to part the thing out. The motor is free and I got it to turn over but haven't started it yet. Tan interior is decent. Good glass. Jump seats. It came with a brush guard that turns out to be from a '79. Everything is for sale so if you need something send me pm with your email and I'll send you pictures of what you are looking for. From my brief time on this site it seems to be a great place to give and share information about old Soobs.

So how did you go about getting them off? How did you pry? From the top or bottom? Was that just the trim above the doors or for the windshield trim as well?

Not sure if this is where to post this question but... Anyone have advice or instructions on removing the trim from around the windshield and above the doors? My dream of restoring the 82 Brat I picked up were crushed when I discovered the bed, wheel wells and "frame rail" were rusted out so I'm starting to part it out. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. :-\

I just picked up an 82 off Craigslist. Bought it without looking at it first. Turns out that the driver side frame rail is completely rusted out so I am starting to part it out. I haven't listed anywhere so I'll give you first dibs on whatever parts you might need. I live in Wisconsin so there would be shipping involved. Let me know and I will get you some pictures.
