  1. i might be able to join you guys also, if i get my lift kit installed by then. might just come along to watch , i'd also like to attended some of the ice races this year see what they are all abouit , i hear its a great fun. richard
  2. my bad ,typo. should read EA82 :-\ from a '86 EA82T ( i think thats the year ) to the '89 SPFI thanks for pointing that out. i love this forum!!! everyone is actually nice, and helpful. richard
  3. i'm replacing the clutch on my wagon after a good floggin session wiht 4 of my friends who had never driven manual cars before... and i showed them on my rally cross corse i have a clutch and flywheel from another engine (same thing ea81) and it has less than 2 miles on it. i was wondering if the fly wheel is neutrally balanced so that it can be put on another engines crank in any position.??? the fly wheel is actually off a turbo ea81 and is going on a SPFI engine.... i will be doing the swap this weekend so if i don't hear back i'll just do it in the same position on the new motor as the old. oh yeah i know there are timing marks on the flywheel but do i really need them lined up?? Richard,
  4. thanks, and a question, what is the diffrence between the 505's wheels and the 504 wheels???? thanks and i'll be in touch Richard
  5. wow......... thats cool. i think. thanks for the pics and links. i think to see all the off road pics at irs you have to click on the top bar on the page.... and click on hthe blue text that says photos - off road http://www.isrperformance.com/picturegallery1.htm Richard
  6. don't pu tit in the camaro thats what everyone does... go with the brat idea.. so you are going to make it rear drive? i had heard that the rear susp. design didn't allow for any "squat"(sp?) and would roast the tires on comand. not that there is anything wrong with that i just would be worried about mid corner tire smoking. have you thought about putting in a straight axle rear? i had idea of putting a 350 in a RS coupe....but the wieght distribution would be off and the rear susp. design is hasle, gettting it to handle the power.
  7. has anyone seen a lifted impreza? i'm wondering just for the fun of it? maybe even a lifted RS?? i've seen lifted legacys but not any imprezas.. pics would be cool thanks, Richard
  8. with power going in the diff in reverse of noraml rotations will the diff handle that power and extra strain of larger wheels, since the gear mesh would be in the wrong direction? Richard
  9. how did he use the indipendant front susp. with the t-case mod? richard
  10. has anyone ever done this? put a chevy V-6 ,V-8 or any other engine in a subaru mainly 6" lifts or higher with seprate x'fer-case and straight axles? i was wondering if anyone has done or thought about it? i love subarus body styles i know the great thing about subaru is that its a very light combo, light body and alum. engine, thought i'd trough it out there Richard
  11. i'm looking for oval slot 14" steel pug wheels i belive the 5.5j14 or 5j14 like these any one know of some? i live in rochester mn I'am willing to pay for shipping, it would be cool if they didn't have tires on at time of shipping... Thanks, Richard
  12. thanks for more pics of tex's car i'm talking with patrick (ozified) right now and will be ordering a kit, and next i'll be looking for wheels... i'm really excited now!!thoose pics confirm the need to lift wagon... thanks for all the help sorry it took so long to get back to this thread i've been busy, thanks Richard
  13. great idea!!! that would be a sweet car. what about water injection? a friend of mine, (subaru master mech.) used to race BMW 2002's and NA's and he had water injection on them to keep the detonation away. he claimed more power from the water injection also...he has not dyno sheet to prove it just the "seat of the pants dyno" aka "butt dyno" Richard
  14. the first one is my desktop , sorry it took so long to reply i work a 10 hour second shift at a machine shop, 4-10's i'm going to sleep in tomorrow!! thanks for the info. any one know of some steelies for sale? to help my dreams of a lifted roo come true?? tex did you make the roof rake your self? love the shovel!!! and the lights... are swampers good for all around street and off road tires? this will proabably be my summer play car and my winter driver...swampers or A/T's? how long of a wait is it for the lift kit? sorry for all the questions , i've had 10 hours to think about lifting my wagon while i pushed the green button 213 times...oh no!!! manufacturing has me in a vulcan death grip!! wow its late. Richard
