  1. I'm removing the lift off a donor wagon to fit to mine.

archemitis : what do you mean not legal ?

TheSubaruJunkie : thanks, from what I can see it's a Scorpion Lift Kit.

I just wanted to remove it and not redo the donor to standard. The donor will be going to the dump.

Does anyone have the fitting instructions for the Scorpion Kit ?

    thanks

  2. Excellent....thanks for the write up

It sounds like it might take awhile. If I was going to just replace Engine + Gearbox and add the lift kit, would it be easy to hoist both through the engine bay as one unit or seperate ? I have a hoist but I have no way of supporting the body to try what you describe. I just want to pull both units from each wagon and swap. And while my wagon is engine and gearbox less I thought I would do the lift ? I might have to get someone do this for me :-\

  3. I would have to concur with Miles on this one. Drop the crossmembers from the engine and trans along with the struts. Get a couple of mates to assist you in rolling the body away from the drivetrain. Set it back into place and then add the lift. That way everything wil be loose and ready to add the lift. Besides, a little weight is good when trying to do the struts.

    Good luck!

Would you be able to elaborate on how this excatly is done. Please :D

I have no idea how or where to start

  4. Sorry for my impatience I am just so keen to get going:banghead: didn't relize it was Sunday and a sport day.

It's the whole engine + gear box that's coming out of the donor car 83Wagon into MY81Wagon. I'm replacing my worn-out EA81 S/R with the donors EA81 D/R. The whole Engine Gearbox pull sounds the way to go. Id like to hear from someone who's done this before. Thx

edit Add: Can I pull the engine and gearbox as one through the engine bay or would it have to drop out ?

  5. Hi All, I have just got my donor car 83Wagon. I will be transfering the Engine Gear Box, maybe rear diff and the lifter kit to my other wagon.

I am a total newbie at swapping major parts and would like some help on how to tackle the job. I have seen threads on engine and trans removal etc but not as a full job. Would it be a good time to do the lift kit when the engine and gearbox are out. In what order should I dismantle both wagons and then refit all bits ?

    Any help ....suggestions muchly apprecieated...:)

  6. Remove the disty, remove the #1 sparkplug, put your finger in the hole then turn the engine by hand. When you feel the air being pushed out of the cylinder then you have it at TDC. Line up the rotor just to the right of the plug wire on the disty cap and when you set it in it should be lined up.

Your da man  Quick reply, Quick fix, Excellent  Thanks ......... On the road again

  7. 1/ When pulling into the driveway or driving slowly the steering is so bloody hard that my wife can hardly turn the thing. But ok at speed. I raised the front wheels off the ground and can hear a gradding noise when I turn the steering wheel. It seem's to be coming from the front shocks.....what problem would this be ?

2/ The other day I went from dirt to tar without taking it out of 4wd. I did a u-turn and the back wheels locked and I had to drap them behind me to complete the turn. It took a bit of fiddling to get the 4wd disengaged. What problem am I looking at here ?

    Many Thanks in advance

  8. I have run the wiper motor straight off the battery to check, and it works.

When I metre read the 4 connectors that connect to the motor. Green, Blue, Black, Black w/White stripe. The 2 Blacks give a reading of 12v but when I use the battery to test, it's the Black and Blue that make the motor turn.

Would this be faulty wiring or a faulty switch as the motor does work ?

Also the washer motor is also not responding...In the fuse box there is one fuse labeled wiper so I assume that these are on the same curcuit ???
