Do ea81 gls use the same clutch as a ea82? I want to use my original 4 speed d/r with a adapter plate and flywheel from sjr. Should i order a ea82 clutch kit and then have the flywheel ground to xt6 specs? sorry if im repeating i just want to make sure. Thanks

I currently have a d/r 4spd trans in my 84 gl. Im getting ready to do a ej22 swap into it. Should i stick with the current trans with a xj6 clutch or should i switch to a ea82 tranny? Would it have better longevity?

Any info about re drilling the holes? i only have ea 82 struts available to replace my ea 81.

My 84 gl did the same thing when I first bought it. A good test is to jack up the front of the car so the tires are off the ground. Then try to shake each wheel in different directions vigorously. In my case both lower ball joints were shot. Good luck.

From what i've read, the gain isnt that great especially to justify spending money. But its really up to you, I'd do more reserch, the search bar is your friend! Cheers
