johnsons subaru in middletown ny. i figure the mechanic forgot to drain the oil and just added 5 quarts... i drove the car 6 miles but idk how many miles the dealer put on it since the oil change. the car is certified but i want it in writing that if anything happens to the engine its their fault. they feel horrible about the mistake.

i also have the same issue on my 96. when i got it it had 2 new aftermarket axles in front with NO ROLL pins. the pass side was clicking even though it was looking brand new so i replaced with a stock old used one.clicking gone .question? i thought the center shaft ujoint were not replacable? i can see pressing them out but how do u center the new ones and hold them in place?

yea i meant 2.2 .... i drove the outback home today. its a much nicer ride on the highway.the outback is def a 2.5 and i get ya with the spark plugs. i solved my problem! i took both home lol. ill drive the outback till something goes wrong and then move on to the legacy 2.2 i should put the outback struts on the legacy lol. im actually surprised cause the outback is loaded but it doesnt have power door locks. i want power door locks! :-)

So I work in a junkyard and there are 2 cars Here I can commute 100 miles a day with.a 96 legacy wag base model 2.0 its dependable but has a vibration at speed sometimes.maybe drive shaft.175,000. Or a 95 outback 2.5 176000 miles.it runs great and is loaded .doesnt seem to have any antifreeze issues except maybe a miss when it's first started for a few seconds.I don't know any history on either car.I put 3000 miles on the legacy and 100 miles on the outback.im leaning for the outback.better in the snow and power door locks etc.opinions please?

love my impreza but its very low to the ground. one place i go the door always hits the curb stone and in winter in real deep snow i worry about the front bumper getting damaged. wondering if the XV struts will raise up the impreza.would need wheel alignment and who knows what else.i know the XV has a larger gas tank and larger tires. what else would be necessary for a swap?

i cant get a charge into it unless i jump the compressor cause it wont run long enough. but now there is another problem cause the low side hose started leaking:-( i work in a junk yard and drive whatever is hanging around. i love this car and the only other thing i can drive is a Lincoln town car. but i gotta have A/C. i played with the charge for hours. i dont think thats the problem. i had the high side up to 270 /low 40 at one point and nothing made a difference.outside temp around 70 the evap thermal switch , can i get to it ? also one blend door isnt working. makes a clicking sound and i have to give it a push to open/close. its the one near the gas pedal area.idk if that can be related.

i checked the charge. added more.then evacuated ,vacuum pump, and started from scratch. 30 low and 210 high side at the moment. its working perfect just wont stay on on its own. if i jump the fans also it will go down to 30 degrees at idle and ill turn off the compressor for a minute and the n back on.so it doesn freeze up so it makes sence the thermal switch on the evap is bad?

97 legacy wag. the a/c is ice cold if i jump the clutch .38 degrees on a 70 degree day. i jumped the pressure switch. i jumped the thermal switch on the compressor. compressor will turn on for a few seconds and then stay off for minutes and turn on again for a second. when i jump the compressor i am not turning on the fans so ac doesnt come out cold unless im going 20 mph plus. help me make a clutch switch that also turns on the rad fans or help fix the actual problem. also one of the motors that control the vent doors makes a clicking noise and the vent door wont move unless i push on it.(by gas pedal side of ac unit)idk if this is related? may be thermal switch under dash?

my boss has a 25 foot race car enclosed trailer. he had it parked on a dirt lot. today he hooked it up to his chevy 454SS pick up truck to move it. the trailer weighs 5000 and the car inside is 3300 plus tool boxes and lots of extra stuff. figure his pick up is another 5000. well we had 4 inches of rain last night . he was stuck in the mud up to the rims . we hooked up my 1996 legacy 2.2 wagon to the pick up and the thing (in the mud mind you) pulled the whole rig out!. it was amazing! best part was i got to spray brown mud all over his spotless black 454ss pick up :-) wish someone had been there to film it.would of made a great subaru commercial.
