sinbin replied to sinbin's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThanks for all the help. Going to check out car-parts.com. I had one shop recommend I consider the EJ20. Any advice there? If anyone happens to have one available, please let me know.

sinbin replied to sinbin's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThanks. I called and they don't have any EJ22s right now, but said to check back in a couple of weeks. Their prices are more in my budget.

any recommendations for buying a rebuilt EJ-22 online?
Hello! My 85 brat had an engine swap done for the EJ-22. The engine I got though ended up being bad. I moved to Austin, TX from Portland, OR. It's a lot harder here to find these motors in central Texas. I was thinking of buying one online and having it shipped here where a local mechanic will do the work. I'm no mechanic myself. Can you guys recommend a site where I can order a good, rebuilt engine? Thanks!

I posted this in the wrong forum. If someone could delete it I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Brat - reglue fun top gasket?
I found a pair of fun top gaskets for my Brat that I'm considering buying. One of them needs reglueing. Does anyone know how difficult this is? Seems easy enough. What kind of glue do you use? Thanks!

Yep my brotha, it's definitely different than Portland / Vancouver. I finally saw a late 80's GL wagon today. probably an 87. First I've seen! I still think my 85 brat might be the oldest in town! And probably the only Brat! Check out the Texas group - http://ultimatesubaru.org/forum/group.php?groupid=20. Not a lot of action there, but there's a several of us.

WCSS 14 - Jefferson County Fairgrounds, Port Townsend, WA
I plan on flying out from Texas. Won't have my Brat, but being at the show with no car is better than missing the show completely.

Hi Again. Texans?
Thanks, but I'm no mechanic and I don't know any here. Sounds like it would need a fair amount of work. I've been in touch with a shop that can replace the engine for me, but I need to save up the $1500 or so to get it done.

Hi Again. Texans?
Hello Texans! I'm a recently transplant for Portland, Or to Austin. Haven't seen one other Brat yet. Did see a gen 2 wagon, but other than that just some newer Outbacks and Foresters. I have an 85 Brat that is currently needing a new engine so it's grounded for the next couple of months until I can get enough saved up for a replacement EJ 22. Had the swap done recently, but ended up with a falsely advertised engine. Oh well. Such is the luck of Craigslist.
