  1. I just completed putting my EA-82 back into my 93 Loyale, went to start it up and it turned over but would not start. I am pretty sure that it is the ignition timing but honestly have no idea where to begin. I went to the few posts on here on setting up ignition timing and tried that out but it did not work. Does anyone know of an easy way to get the timing right? I tried turning the crankshaft until the flexplate reached the 0 mark which I thought was supposed to be TDC for the 1st cylinder. Is that correct? Then I put the distributor in the same place that it was originally in. The problem that I am having is due to the fact that I didn't mark anything on the disty before I pulled it out. How should I go about doing it now? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I really would like to have it running by monday. Thanks.
  2. I am almost finished replacing the cylinder head gaskets on my 93 Loyale EA-82. Does anyone know the best way to get the timing right? The reason I ask is because I want to make sure it is good to go before I drop it back in the car. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Thanks for the input. I am going to remove the torque converter tomorrow and put it back on the tranny before I go to put the engine back in. I will make sure that I hear the three clicks when rotating it onto the spline. So are you saying there is more bolts that need to be removed or should the torque converter just pull off and seperate from the flexplate? Input on this would be much appreciated because I am kinda frustrated as I thought that there was only four bolts that held it on. Thanks
  4. I havent really tried to pry it off or anything. Should it just come off now?
  5. Kinda. I am just replacing some of the seals as it was leaking oil pretty badly. That is wierd because I took off the four flywheel bolts but the torque converter still came out. Is there more than four bolts?
  6. I just recently pulled the engine out of my 1993 Loyale. When I pulled it out the torque converter came out with the engine. Is this what usually happens of does it stay with the tranny? The reason I ask is because all of the oil drained out the the torque converter when it came out. Before I put the engine back in am I going to need to put tranny fluid in the torque converter or will it fill up once I put some in the tranny fill tube? Also how do I go about pulling the torque converter off so I can gain access to the rear main seal? Thanks a lot
  7. I need to check the plugs like you said to see if they melted. I will check it though this weekend since I am going to have the engine pulled out.
  8. I posted this response earlier but didn't get much response so I thought I would post it again. I have a 93 Loyale and have been having problems with it starting. It will start some times and other times it will not. When it doesnt start the starter makes a clicking noise and it can be jumped with a screwdriver. When I do this it starts everytime. What would be causing this. Could it be the ignition switch? Any help would be appreciated because I am getting tired of opening the hood everytime I go to start it. Thanks
  9. So does it bypass those contacts when you jump it? The reason I ask is because like I said it always starts when I jump it using a screw driver.
  10. I have a 93 Loyale and sometimes it will start and other times it will not. When it doesnt start you can still here a clicking sound at the starter and it can be jumped off at the starter. It starts everytime when it is jumped. Can anyone suggest what needs to be replaced? Also I am planning on pulling the engine (EA82) this next weekend to replace some of the seals as it is leaking oil pretty badly. What would you guys suggest to replace when I have the engine pulled out? Also does anyone know of any posts that might be of some help? I did a search but didn't get anything back. Thanks
