  1. I am having trouble in higher speeds on my 1991 Subaru Loyale. It takes approx 4000 rpm to go 65 mph. Is this normal? I thought it might be the timing advance systems on the distributor, but when I looked, I found no vacume advance unit (not even a place to mount one), nor does there appear to be a centrifugal advance mechanism. The entire unit below the rotor is sealed so I assume it is all electrical.. I didn't see a distributor picture in my repair manual that matched mine so now I am really wondering. Also, when I hook up a timing light, I don't even come close to the TDC scale, or even 20 degrees BTDC... I am totally off the scale (perhaps a 1/4 turn of the flywheel or so) and can't adjust even close to it. Any suggestions? Oh.. I just had a new engine put in, so I am wondering what might have been done wrong.
  2. I am getting a k&n filter. Do you just put it where the old flat one is or do youhave to get other things to make it fit?
  3. That is disgustingly AWSOME. I wish I was taller.
  4. did you notice a change in acceleration? I got one also on my 91 loyale. it now gets better acceleration and mileage. congrats
  5. YES! I do believe it was reving quite a bit higher than I usually let it. Blasted automatic McTranny! THANKS CANAJUN2EH:banana:
  6. So I was sliding around in the safety of a snowed-over, fairly slick parcking lot in my 91 auto tran-tran loyale, and as I am drifting around a planter, lush in greenery, the car just turns off as though it were frightened of the freshly dumped, white blanket of frozen precipitation. The electronics (stereo and lights) were still in perfect operation. Is this merely a feature of the luxurious loyale designed to keep me from sliding to my ultimate demise, or is it time for a friggin' tune up.
  7. i got a loyale and here in southern OR, there are a bunch of old soobs. I am pretty sure its because they dont break down and people dont ever let go of them. They are pretty much the dankest road machines on this side of the Nile.
  8. I need ideas on what i can do to my 1990 loyale to give it a bit more power, speed, gas mileage, etc. It hates hills and speed. What can be done?
  9. I am going to put either a cherrybomb glasspack or cherrybomb turbo on my 1990 loyale. Will a cherrybomb turbo make my car sound like an annoying rice rocket? I dont want that.I want to get a bit more power out of it, so What sort of exuast should i get? Please help, thanks
