Even the VERY few older vintage that had HG issues(not 03-07 2.5L),they were diagnosed in the first 10K miles. Your 03 is not even on the list..not an issue. figetaboutit! I'd be willing to bet with even no-service at all in 40k miles..that 03 motor is running perfect. One owner suggestion..if your in a winter zone,do yourself a favor and read the reviews on the Dunlop M3 winter/sport tire at Tirerack..makes subbies bulletproof in all conditions as noted. Just make sure it had/has the full 30K service done..flushes all fluids and power flush trans then new plugs, oil and filters...it's ready now for it's next 30K... enjoy.

Does anyone know of a subaru search engine that will check all US subaru dealers inventory? I'm trying to locate a GT Wagon as close to the west coast as possible and I'm also open to the L non-GT. Thought I'd move up from my fab 03 roo to a GT mainly because of the 5sp auto plus the other goodies. My only complaint has been the lack of one more gear in an otherwise almost perfect car.

Wow,ya gotta wonder why..our type of terrain demands it, ...let's hope a 5 or even a 6 speed auto makes makes it in the Legacy this time. I'm looking for a 2007 replacement for the 03 and with stability control and traction control as options on some of the non-awd's cars,I may jump ship for the right combo but I'd hate to...we have loved our roo's but the times they are a-changing.

I'm looking for info on the 2007 Legacy. From what I've found the Legacy will finally have GPS,stability control and mp3 as options. I don't think there will be any other significant changes but I'm not sure..anyone have more info? I haven't found anything on Subaru's Hybrid or if they are even developing one? oops,I almost missed this thread on a possible Hybrid: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=43198 but I suspect it's true gain in mileage won't be that much better then a non-hybrid..that's been the case with the accord and the camry anyway.

I was checking for the highest rated winter performance tires at Tirerack..the Dunlop Sport M3 showed up as the highest reviewer rated tires, amazing snow traction numbers and dry highway performance but too soft for year-around use unless your rich..it looks like a new catigory for winter tires (winter performance)..the new compounds sure make a difference.

Thanks Steve and Jamie, I called the local subaru parts and what I could determine,I will need to add the relay, which BTW came with the Cibie kit. The subaru OEM switch was quoted $19..I'll use the Cibie switch instead uless otherwise advised? Q? I'm curious if the pre-wired is configed to work the foglights only on low beam as set with the OEM foglights..not really sure why this is nessesary except maybe a bounce-back glare issue?

[quote name=Urban CoyoteMy Legacy L with Nokians vs my Parents Impreza with cheap Wall Mart brand winter tires. Should be interesting to see who makes it' date=' and who gets stuck UC[/quote] The Nokian WN or RSI is far superior to anything @ Wallyworld Chinese Emporium especially good for winter driving, that's a given... but you can bury them also,so it really depends more on whose driving. :=)
