Engine comes tomorrow!

thanks i made the big purchase and yes nothing wrong with the body or interior. i love this car and my intentions are to keep as stock as possible and drive as smooth as possible. I will keep this car for ever. Only rust spot is the battery tray and that has been treated and painted. SO EXCITED!

please help i will be making the purchase tomorrow.

Hows it going everyone. I had a couple quick easy questions, I'm sure they have been answered in other threads but not to my understanding. So I have the opportunity buy a fully rebuilt ea82t at the cost of 700 with shipping fro Texas to California should I do it..? Also the reason I would like to keep the ea82t would be it will be simple just to drop in the ea82t into my rx. I also live I California and stupid smog has me worried with the ej swap. Mind you this engine is completely rebuilt and this car will not be daily driven, only used for snow trips and car meets. Im not trying to make a magical ea82t just simple stock. Please give me feedback.

no problems with this radiator just cleaning the engine bay. That radiator looks nice!

Well today i was pulling out my radiator and was stunned... No wonder why the head gsakets always blow. Now my question is does anyone one know how to upgade the radiator in my 87 rx coupe? I understand my options are kinda limited.

if you are talking head bolts I believe Subaru dealership sells them.

I think I found a vintage subaru snowboard rack is it worth pickin up it has no keys and does anyone have any pictures of 1980s ski or snowboard racks to compare too?

So far I have done the whole head gasket set, decked the heads, thermostat gasket, thermostat, pcv valve, timing belt, water pump, turbo gaskets, oil pan gasket, head lights, sti hood scoop, air filter, oil filter, oil, radiator hose upper and lower, clutch and I Think that's it some may say money wasted but at least I can say I'll have fun this winter. Throwing it all together now and cleaned my engine bay spotless painted the usual rust by the battery I got the color match from a store by giving them my paint number. Trying to figure out which tires to put on next I want rally snow tires!! Or chunky snow tires that look rally. Any Rx's in the Bay Area or close we should link up even 80s gen people what's up!

So I pulled my motor and now when I release the Ebrake the car won't move any reason? And will there be a problem when I go and install the motor later?

Sweet thanks. So for smog your saying the donor car i take the motor out of ill need to match everything on it pretty much "smog wise"

So I have a 1987 Subaru Rx turbo looking to do an ej22 swap, I'm looking to go to a junkyard pulling the engine and the wiring harness, which year engine should I look for that's the simplest. I was planning on sending the harness to sjr was wondering if anyone has done this how long this usually takes? Also was wondering if it was as simple as swapping the engine mounts putting the new wire harness in then the adapter plate then dropping the engine. Give a take a few mistakes in the process. And last question I need to do a CA smog when this is done what do I need to swap over. Thanks sorry new to this forum life.
